Guys, I hope after the decision is made that we will all band together and support which way Dan chooses to go. We need to be behind the program like we were in the late 90's, when George was here. I just want our fanbase united, I want everyone to trust in the decision Dan makes and IF a new coach is hired give him every opportunity possible to win here, I don't want to look back at 6 years later like this right now where people have just simply stopped coming to games. We need everyone excited about Tech football again and I believe that is what Dan is trying to accomplish and will accomplish, should he select someone it will be the man who he believes can bring Tech to a new level and add enthusiasm to the program. So in closing, I think he will make a superb choice, I hope that you all will agree and support it. Busy week, should know the outcome very soon.:D

Agreed. I trust DRad. Here's hoping for Muschamp if he does what we all think he will.

DRad is a very shrewd and experienced guy. I trust him and believe he will make a choice that will prove to be successful...

also we may be losing one of our radio commentators, he might be heading to the SEC

Mr. Barrel,
You teaser, you!

ArchiTECH likes the way you say funny things about a dawg as our coach -- hee, hee, you brighten ArchiTECH's day here at the home.

love,

I think that everyone will. I think GT people are understanding and reasonable as much as southern college football fans cam be. The problem under the Gailey regime as been that he did such a poor job of communicating to the media and fanbase that he simply could not convince them that he knew what he was doing and had a passion for doing it. Early on he talked about trying to win the "Championship" and you never really got the sense you knew which "Championship" he was talking about.

There is no doubt in my mind that if DRad selects a new coach he will be as skilled in communicating with the media and fans as DRad himself is. This will make all the difference in the world and have fans pumped for the future. Gailey simply does not have that ability. Then we just need to make it happen.

BOR, I'm certainly intriqued by Muschamp and Edsall both. After watching Muschamp's YouTube moment he certainly would be change of pace.

I really don't give a cup of piss about who we hire if he is inspiring and can win. If you can't beat them, hire them. No need to remind you that Dodd was a UT grad.

He's been at Auburn, they hate UGA too. He got his masters from Auburn, his wife is an AU grad. You get who you feel can win. Dooley from AU did well at UGA, Dye from UGA went on to AU. Happens all the time, Dodd was from UT.

Well there goes my hope already one person has a problem with a possibility of a coach.

I must say I have mixed feelings as well.

With the strike of being a Bulldog against him, how good of a choice must he be if he is the selection. I've always been very impressed by him and let's be honest I'm sure he has had the chance to work for UGA over the last 12 years and he hasn't. I think he would relish the challenge of turning GT into an exciting ACC power.

If he wins, I don't care where he comes from and neither should you.

Please take a page from the old guard screwing the pooch in 1992 when Ross left. They felt that "O'Leary and/or Fridge were not head coaching material". Yet they thought Bill Lewis was someone who could take the program to the next level. Afterall, he was a "Tech man" and understood the program. Haven't we been down this road before. Lets not limit ourselves over stupid parameters.

I like the George reference...

For all the knocks on George's character I still think fondly of him. I specifically remember a simple unifying slogan George came out with that "delivered" us from Satan. "Back to the Basics". He said the game is simply about blocking and tackling and we were gonna start with the fundamentals. It was so simple and easy to rally around. I think the dynamics that are lacking(we seem to block and tackle well) may be different but in the same vain, the idea of a simple thought that can be our unifying call to arms would be refreshing. Emotion, passion in a coache's voice, a pulse maybe? I know George could be kinda dry, but, understanding his roots you could see the fire in his Irish blood when he cracked a sly smile. Those were some PROUD years when the lickers were hating us and hated our HC for sure!!
I would love to see Edsall but I see many "who are in the know" alluding to Muschamp, which puzzles me, him being a mutt and all. I"m sure he'd win me over if he's won others as well.
