We gotta come together

I'm not saying he is the best 56, but I want to look at all candidates and take them all equally seriously as our next head coach. There is no way I don't want Dan to look into every possible situation. If Dan thinks Muschamp is the best coach to hire, then you don't not follow through based on something that is immaterial to head coaching abilities as where he went to school.

I'm as hard core about the UGA/GT rivalry as anyone. When O'Leary left, I didn't want Macwhorter hired because he was a position coach, not because he went to UGA. That meant nothing. I just didn't think he was the best candidate.

Bottom line for me is this. I WANT TO WIN. I WANT TO WIN A LOT AND BEAT UGA. IF WILL MUSCHAMP CAN MAKE THIS HAPPEN THEN THERE AINT NO REASON IN HELL NOT TO HIRE HIM.

But that decision is not mine to make nor am I qualified to make that decision.

its amazing that the best guy is an ex-UGA guy, you believe that?

I wouldn't say that....I pick up that he's in contention, from what I see typed out on here, BUT by no means does that mean he's considered the best, just a serious candidate. The fact that he played at UGA may or may not bode well for some, me, I guess I could be convinced but I'd have to give it time. If you had a crystal ball and it told me he'd come in here and have us beating UGAG and contending for titles, I'd say let's roll!!
**one note, after seeing the youtube on him, he would need serious polishing up to be a HC and I don't know if you can get that done. We don't need to play around with this decision and hire someone who has to be sent to charm school on how to be conduct yourself in public. ON second thought, I"m totally unimpressed with Will Muschamp the person already.

The obvious factor (for me), is the proven HC experience AND background of Edsall. And of course, I already posted my dream team staff above, haha.

Will Muschamp...young, energetic, fiery demeanor. Succesfull college DC at the highest level. Very succesfull actually, as in his defense led the nation in scoring and total defense during a national title run.

On the surface, he looks like a hell of a canidate to me. I'm certainly not in love with the fact that he played for UGA, but I can live with it for the right man. Furthermore, do you think a potential recruit will even remotely care?

Bottom line is we hired a qualified guy in DRad to make these professional decisions. If in his opinion Will Muschamp is the best hire, then we're stupid for not following through.

I dont see why muschamp is better than edsall. its the SEC/LSU connection......... i get it

he's not, in fact after watching your link, I'm totally unimpressed with this guy. He's probably at the pinnacle of responsibility he can handle already. I wouldn't follow him anywhere.

For all I know, Edsall may be the best candidate. What he has done at UConn is nothing short of spectacular. What Muschamp has done with his defenses is also spectacular...I'm hoping he at least gets a good look.

I would be very careful not to hire someone who hasn't been a head coach somewhere else. The difference in average age and experience from ross to lewis staff was 25 years...

So, if he holds a press conference early this week saying that we're moving forward with Chan, you'd be stupid for not following through, right?

Demjackets didn't say he hopes we'll support his new coach. He said we should support his decision. Are all y'all really prepared to do that? Somehow, I'm thinking not.

As for Muschamp, I wonder how the Nadlicker Nation would feel about one of their own going on a 10-0 run against them. It might be worth hiring him just to find out.

Lets go ahead and shoot this theory down once and for all. since we so need a guy with head coaching experience, let me ask you to do a quick exercise. Take the head coaches at each of the top 5 teams in the country, and then tell me what their previous coaching position and experience was.

Well, let me tell you. They were ALL Offensive or Defensive Coordinators and none of them had head coaching experience.

Good point Clapper, but if that happens, I'll bend over and kiss my own ass.

Its Jeff, not sure where he might be headed yet, there's a couple possibilities I think.

Thank God!!! You scared the sh*t out of me!!! I like Jeff and all, but i just had a feeling you were gonna say Wes to ugag to take over for munson.

As a kid, I believe, Dodd loved GT, but knew he could not get in. What if Will is the same way.

What if something, even over the years, has happened in his relationship with ugag? What if he now has a burning hatred for them?

What if he is our best chance for beating the M..... F......?

I trust DRad and I don't give a damn where our next coach went to school, as long as he helps GT.

Here's my mindset going into this week as I lay down to go to sleep.

I'm convinced Chan Gailey will be let go this week. I'm convinced that Dan Radakovich knows that what he is faced with is his opportunity to put the man and staff in charge that will lead this program to prominence. I don't doubt for a second that Dan will skimp on the necessities in the process and hire anyone but who he believes will guide the program to victory first in this state, then in our conference and then in the national picture.

This is Dan's chance to set this program in motion to be the winner it appeared to be on it's way to be at the end of the last century.

The next week is going to be very interesting and very important for our Yellow Jackets and I have total faith in the man in charge of it.

<<As a kid, I believe, Dodd loved GT, but knew he could not get in.>>

I heard Dodd talk in 1985 and he said he and a footballer friend first went to Vandy but they wouldn't let them in. I think I also remember him saying they then took the train to Atlanta and went to GT but couldn't get in here either. Theat's when they went to see Coach Neiland

Until he gives me a reason to think otherwise, I trust D-Rad to make the right call. That being said, I can't imagine our fan base uniting behind Gailey under any realistic scenario.

I would try to post something nice about satin, if he could beat UGA 1 outa 5.

it's spelled satan but I might agree with you

If satin sheets could beat them i'm fine with that. i already have some excellent memories with my wife and satin.:wow:
