True, they both are great coaches, we have a very good staff in place. Its a tough decision to make.
 
He doesn't need to wait till Christmas. Nov 26th will be just fine. If he waits till Christmas it will be a bad mistake IMO. There will be plenty of other opportunities out there and they will open up just as soon as the regular season is over. Many coaches miss their bowl games because they have gone to another team. We don't need to wait if the decision is made.

I wrote DRad and nothing is going to happen until the end of the season. But to back up demjackets form his response it does sound like he has a plan. Here is his response.

I will continue to do all I can to make that happen. I am working thru the evaluation process, and any changes, if required, will be done at the conclusion of the season.

Sounds like Dan has a contingency plan already formed. If we go 7-5 or 8-4 with a loss to UGA, Chan's gone. If we win out or go 8-4 beating the butt sniffers he gets another year.

He probably has a short list already, too.

That's what I'm thinking too. 8-4 with the only remaining loss being to UGA is the one gray possibility, IMO. But even that may not be enough, and maybe it shouldn't be. Glad I'm not the one in charge.

How are the players responding to all this? Do they feel that the "ship is sinking" or are they keeping positive through these losses?

At least he's not ignoring the fanbase. A form reply is better than no reply. Plus, I've seen a few different replies posted elsewhere.
 
Don't buy into the automated response. All of this is speculation, even demjackets said himself "just my opinion" . Don't believe this hype guys, we've heard this crap after every loss for the last 3yrs and Chan is still here, we're stuck with him. If someone had FACTS and not just opinions, i promise they wouldn't be posting it on a public internet message board. Grow up guys and think for yourselves.

After talking with a few of the upperclassmen this morning I think these guys are disappointed but will still give it all they got on the field. There is a lot of heart and pride on this team they will still play hard and give all the effort the have. These are some great and unique young men they won't just lie down they will keep fighting.
 
Some of them are still hopefully fighting for a job in the NFL, so they need to keep everyone motivated. Yeah, NFL potential is not necessarily based on your team stats, but you will certainly get noticed more on a standout team...

Just sore. He should be good to go by Saturday. I don't think he will let himself miss anymore games this year. He might hold out the army game or just go out early.

We've heard what after every loss for the last 3 years? Braine never said much of anything. Last yera DRad was pretty low key as well and actually didn't have much to complain about until the end of the year. I don't know what the FACTS are, but the situation and reaction around GTAA is definitely different than in years past. Why don't you grow up and think for yourself?

Dan's responses are not automated, I guarantee that. Some might sound the same but a lot of people write the same thing to him, if your email is different like some I have seen he will respond differently.Sorry I cant posts some facts about some of these things but like you said it wont be on a message board, I am just giving you guys my opinion on this to give you guys a better idea of things, although being here everyday my opinion is coming from what I have heard and see on a daily basis. Spin it however you would like.

That is accurate as I stated a couple weeks ago when GTKyle started a thread and said we would only owe 1.8 million, people argued saying we would only owe base salary but that was not true, we would owe all of it that is what his contract stipulates, I dont have the actual numbers in front of me but those look about right. The GTAA is no longer in debt, we are increasing revenue, Dan has developed a strategic plan for the future of the Athletics here, he knows where the money is and what we can afford. For this decision money will most likely not be an issue, the money will be there, one little tidbit this is only for if he is fired.;)
