Found another player to join JTS in the Shut The öööö Up game.Be prepared for a lot of .500 football. But, hey, it's better than Collins. Key will be a god, for you mediocrity lovers.

I have a similar view. Some things are just right. They make sense right now. They may not work out fabulously in the end, but they are simply the right thing to do. Hiring Key was the right thing, IMO. That doesn't mean that there weren't a small handful of guys who could do the job, maybe even better than Key. We just don't know. Brent Key may end up better than them all, and it's not like he doesn't have a great resume. Brent Key had come in, reinstalled confidence in a team that had seen their HC fired, taught toughness, planned to his personnel's strengths, and led his coaches to facilitate better gameday execution. Were there lapses? Certainly. Did the level of play generally rise? Yes. Did the players buy in to what he was doing? Absolutely. When a ship is sailing into disaster the first thing to do is slow the approach and turn it around. Key stepped up and did that. Only then can you recalibrate and set a course for the future. You don't pull the guy who just saved you from disaster if he's qualified to captain the ship. You just don't do that. It's not the right thing to do.High as a kite. Not because of the hire, because I had some dental work done late this afternoon. So needless to say, at the moment I’m not feeling any pain.
But I’m all seriousness, we are super happy for Key and just glad it worked out the way it did. Obviously we have deeper optics into the man Brent Key is. It’s easy to root for him, he’s so authentic and just an all around great guy. That said, I know being a nice guy doesn’t mean you’ll be a great coach and being nice doesn’t necessarily equal a lot of wins. But not only is Brent just a super guy, he’s so dang driven and focused on turning this thing around. Love his plan and I am confident his plan combined with the support of J Batt and his incredible knack for raising significant money, I think the days and years ahead will be really fun to be a part of.
Woah, easy with the sidewalk slurs. The whiny people here are not Engineers. They are sidewalk fans and Lawyers.
Needs a rug. Can't get over that haircut

Don't take it personally if it doesn't apply to you.
The fact remains that virtually none of the people complaining are GT engineers. You've got two lawyers whining about it and a bunch of GT Fletch types.
If you are a sidewalk fan who is happy to support the program and the decisions made by its leaders, even if you don't fully agree with them, then kudos to you!
Both of those schools are FBSNot really pleased with Batt on this decision. To my knowledge he/Tech only zoned it on 2 FCS coaches, Chadwell & Willie and from what has been discussed both ( without saying it ) turned us down. I don't think Batt talked to any current FBS coaches. I'm not saying that Key can't be good, but he was the OL coach for 4 years and they were somewhat lacking. I hope he stands up to his assistants and makes the changes that must be made for his success! I'm still trying to figure out the Sims decision to bolt since he was a 3 year starter. We know he had some issues , maybe Key will talk him back in, he could be valuable.
As stated, both Chadwell and Fritz are FBS G5 coaches. Both wanted something that we wouldn't agree to: Chadwell reportedly wanted to bring his defensive staff who, it appears, would have been in over their heads. Fritz wanted more guaranteed money than we could muster with our financial limitations at present. I don't think they turned GT down as much as we wouldn't meet their demands. That happens pretty often and is part of determining the right fit for a hire. Not really pleased with Batt on this decision. How hard is it to stop talking to your dad?
No way SIms is coming back and frankly it's addition by subtraction. Not really pleased with Batt on this decision. The PJ Fan Club wasn't going to be happy with anyone other than Chadwell or a Monken. See 2018. They did stay around during the Clown Debacle so they appear to give AF about GT football but they're mostly Scheme First, School Second fans.
Thing is, the more I looked at it, the worse a Chadwell hire was to me. His defenses are downright awful and if that (bringing his defensive staff with him) was a sticking point, I'm glad we passed on him since it seems like other teams were passing on him too...for 400+ yds/game lol.
The Chadwell hire was 100% about Team Yardage Stats rather than a total team approach to winning. No thanks.
"They better pay for some coordinators".......THIS.......pure Gold!Nah, the PJ fan club are wins first people. His offense got us plenty of big wins. No one cares about yardage in a loss.
The anti-PJ people want wins too. They just saw a consistent slide in wins and figured that was the path to oblivion.
Even the clown supporters want wins. They thought the juice was the way to do it. It just turned out that he recruited at CPJ levels with a much bigger budget. The gems he did get were soft and bolted hoping for an easier path.
So here is Key. He righted the ship. Yes, he let some games get away from him. But at least he stopped the downward slope. They better pay for some coordinators. No more bargain basement hires. Pay for a staff. Key better be willing to clean house (even if they are alumns) if that is what is needed. This team has 8 wins in them next year. No more ööööing around. Set the bar above just making a bowl. 8 wins should be the minimum.
Its not like the last four years the OL has shown development on the Flats. So cherry picking a UCF record from 2015 but ignoring the lack of player development that he was 100% in charge of is crazy...He is HC IIWII, hopefully the new OLCoach will be better at coaching the OL boys up.The criticism is understandable but arguing about the man playing a part in a failure at Central Florida, of all places, years ago is tantamount to saying he's just ain't too bright. A TECH guy? Doesn't learn? Doesn't progress/get better? Makes no sense.
Who said I wasn't an engineer?Don't take it personally if it doesn't apply to you.

can you recite pi to at least 4 decimal places without looking it up?Who said I wasn't an engineer?
Yea, Bradley exaggerates a lot. Years, maybe but not decades. He needs to chill.I quit reading after this ridiculous statement:
"Geoff Collins drove the Yellow Jackets so far into the ditch that extricating them figured to take years if not decades"
Reports from the AJC says he interviewed about 10 candidates. To my knowledge he/Tech only zoned it on 2 FCS coaches, Chadwell & Willie and from what has been discussed both ( without saying it ) turned us down. I don't think Batt talked to any current FBS coaches.
Good. I didn't want to change my avatar.Deion was never coming to GT. The rest are just others cast offs or unproven in P5.
