What does CPJ have to do to keep his job?

Considering we are paying 3 basketball coaches and our AD's last coaching search was a debacle, he can do whatever he wants in 2016 and won't lose his job.

A bowl game in 2016 and he's only on a warm seat. No bowl and its hot for 2017. Beat Georgia and he's golden.

Bowl in future years and he keeps his job. Beat Georgia on occasion, graduate players, sell 20,000+ season tickets, compete for the ACC Coastal 2/3 years and he can retire here.

Lots of upside with CPJ, still like him, still glad he's here even after last year.

I think we fans underestimate how important graduating players is to CPJ's job security, and he is doing a good if not great job at that. I think a lot of the decision makers at GT are appeased with a .500 football team as long as the team GPA's stay high.

We have met the enemy and he is us!

I don't know what your degree was in, but 3-9 isn't 50%.

Hey ee8384, he has been a head coach WAY to long to underacheive the way he has. Not a stupid question at all. Georgia Tech fans deserve better than a gimmicky FCS bullshit offense. You obviously have no idea what it takes to win, or maybe you are just satisfied with playing in a bowl game before New Years.
This response makes your agenda clear. "Gimmicky FCS bullshit offense". So just where in Sanford cesspool are your seats?

Meh, recruiting has been hit or miss. I fully realize that it's been very Georgia Tech-like and pretty much the exact same as Gailey's, but that's still not great. If we want to have more seasons like 2014 and avoid seasons like 2015, we can't have recruiting classes like 2013 where we miss on so many guys and leave ourselves super thin.

CPJ is an outstanding gameday coach and anyone who disagrees can suck it. Still, we're gonna see more of the same (ups and downs with mostly mediocrity) unless we figure out a way to improve recruiting, even if just a little bit. Personally, I'm fine with that, because I think the odds of hiring someone else that can do better are extremely low, and the odds of hiring someone that would do worse are pretty high. But that's just me.

Much the same was said towards the end of ccg regime

Our goal is to sell 20,000 season tix?

Close up the shop now, coz that will not cut it.

If we fire CPJ, how many coaches will we be paying next year? I'm pretty sure we are done paying CCG. We will be paying CPJ, CPH, CBG, the new basketball coach and the new football coach.

Yes, I do forget the new basketball coach's name (Pastner, I think is the spelling? Couldn't tell you his first name). Our basketball program in particular is in a Braves-level of malaise.

I think he could lose his job with another losing season and a loss to UGA. I think 6 wins or his third win against UGA insures he is our coach in '17. I think this is how it should be.

All he has to do is put a consistently winning program on the field that will consistently fill the stadium.

If he can't do that we should move on and give someone else the opportunity.
If the ACC has caught up and we are Georgia Southern north, it is time to move on. No bowl game or UGA win will do him in. The stands will be empty. To argue that it is more difficult to recruit to GT than Duke or Wake is dumb. He has to prove himself in 2016.

I just hope we don't owe the AD as well.
