Dem, would you please give the family $20 a piece and tell them to go buy something nice for themselves, they deserve it. Tell them your staying home to relax, but we need some info.
Answer this, if you were to choose a coach based on what you have seen/heard, who would be your choice?

Dem, told me he was going to be super busy Friday through the weekend so he might not be posting as often as usual. So don't freak out. I am sure he will update us as soon as he is able.

Sorry guys, I have been busy and haven't even checked th board really.

Everyone who sent pm's, I got about 19 to read, I will eventually get back to you. Thanks guys.

I cant really comment on who I would pick at this time. I think you will all know soon enough who it will be. Next week is a pretty safe bet, Monday is a possibility.

I will say this though this has not been good on the team, they want this to end quickly. The asst coaches aren't helping out the cause much either. Todays practice was pathetic, and only lasted an hour. Maybe the coaches if they cant keep the energy and enthusiasm up for themselves they need to at least do it for the kids and not just give up on them. I have to say I am very disappointed in our assistant coaches right now, I thought they were better then that.

Very disappointing to here.

This doesn't speak well for JT if the case.

I read on another thread somewhere that Muschamp was on campus today. Don't know if that's true, but if it is, would he have seen practice?

Would that pathetic practice affect a decision?

well it's hard to blame the players...Everything is "up in the air" and "conversations/interviews" seem to take place in an air tight/sound proof room....The assistant coaches are distracted b/c they don't know which university will be printed on their next pay check....is a TOUGH situation for all & to expect an "business as usual" atmosphere is a bit much I think...The players don't know who to trust...with all the rumors & the bowl has taken a back seat to all the choas...I imagine this is going to have a BIG impact/ripple effect on recruiting...I hope I am wrong... I am ready to see/hear a decision so we all can get beyond it.

A decision about retaining assistant coaches if the job were to be offered.

There is no way the asst. coaches are going to treat this week of practice like it were big. Their stuck playing out west, their boss just left and their buddy took over as coach, which is rumored to be leaving asap. All of the asst. coaches are trying to figure out if they are even going to have a job. This is their life, they have to pay the bills. The longer this runs out the worse its gonna get for the asst. coaches. Think about it from their perspective. Yes, I know they should still be proffessional and finish their jobs, but they are probly on the edge of their seats more than half of us are. Think of how up tight we are trying to figure out who the coach is, I would venture to say its 10 times as hard for those guys.

On campus, Yes, today and tomorrow.

Wouldn't affect a decision.

However, with all of this said it is up to DRad to call a meeting & rally the troops....But even this would be a challenge b/c of JT being a candidate he can't share too much of what's going on in the process.....I wonder if this keeps what is going to happen.....Something has to be done b.c of the collateral damage it is causing...

Don't we as fans bear at least a little blame for the team's attitude? They earn another bowl bid, have another winning season, and their fans fire the coach saying "they can't stand such mediocrity". Seems a little hypocritical to expect them to keep on giving 100% when their fans have absolutely no respect for anything they have accomplished.

Since we have not hired a coach this week, I would have loved to have waited to fire Chan after bowl bids were announced. I would have preferred we spend this week arguing for the kids getting a shot at Nashville - we had a pretty identical season to FSU.

If there is anything I can't blame players for today it would be having a half-hearted practice.

The players went hard, they want to go hard, they didn't want practice to end so quickly. They are fine with things and want to go to the bowl game and play well, they are also excited about the new coaching and direction, what they aren't fine with is lackadaisical current assistants who keep insinuating it doesn't matter since they think they will be gone soon.

I'd say that's a very, very small number that doesn't respect what the team has done.

Thanks for that clarification. No excuse for coaches not giving the young men they have recruited and coached the best they have for as long as they are on the payroll.
