Where is Dems?

Thats not it. He is still on campus and will be tomorrow as well.

Now that the game is over I will say it, sounds like PJ is trying to get himself in the mix. He wants to be considered and interview.
If Paul Johnson wants this job, it should be his without question, END OF STORY.

I completely agree. I just got done watching him dismantle Army a lot worse then we did this year...and Navy's offense played pretty poorly for their standards. He is a winner!!!

The asst coaches aren't helping out the cause much either. Todays practice was pathetic, and only lasted an hour. Maybe the coaches if they cant keep the energy and enthusiasm up for themselves they need to at least do it for the kids and not just give up on them. I have to say I am very disappointed in our assistant coaches right now, I thought they were better then that.

Dem. I would appreciate it if you could shed some light on how this helps anything during this very difficult time for G.T.. It would seem this would be best brought to the attention of He who is in charge rather than to those who it will only bring more deviciveness among.

If we can't look at Hatcher (why?), then PJ would be my second choice.

He's a winner and would do well at GT.

What do you mean exactly? who is the "He" you are talking about dividing it more?

I hope that we hire Paul Johnson. Then, since we are running an option offense, I hope we bring back Pepper as his OC. I'd rather have the Bear, since he was an even better option football coach, but Bama has a lock on him if he is resurrected.

Gailey had an early 80's offense, now we can have a 70's offense! Golden oldies--it even fits in with our school colors!!

Since you mention it, the single wing is back in vogue (regardless of what the teams are calling it today)
Personally, I don't care what we run as long as we do it better than we have since 2001.

WVU seems to do ok without trying to pretend they should be running an NFL playbook.

The players went hard, they want to go hard, they didn't want practice to end so quickly.
1- practice was 15 periods= 1 hour and 15 minues
2- since we have no idea who we're playing it's useless to go through all the scout team periods which account for roughly 6 periods per practice
3- the practice was much more up-tempo and faster paced than previous practices. Cut out a bunch of fat, kept the meat.
4- most players loved it.

If PJ is the new interview and not Hatcher, where does that leave us with Hatcher? Has he been contacted and will he get an interview? I really feel like it will be a mistake if he we don't hire him, much give him a fair shake.

PJ is our guy.

We and he have just been waiting until his season finished.

He will be our next HC...

In that Chan Gailey was getting booed and not the players, you should probably feel upset at yourself now for not joining in.

complain in the proper way, booing while the team is on the field (no matter whom you are booing) is wrong. You dont boo while your team is on the field playing. it is low class, and asinine and makes you look like a childish imp.

and considering the names that have been mentioned, Gailey is better than just about all of them

a classless sreamer as head coach at Tech, a former mutt to boot??? no thanks, we should have more class than that; he is not proven and will only divide the fan base more

Hatcher? totally unproven. Edsall? marginal choice

Charlie Strong and Cutcliffe are the guys i like that have been mentioned. But i really think we should be going after Jim Grobe.

Thanks for that clarification. No excuse for coaches not giving the young men they have recruited and coached the best they have for as long as they are on the payroll.

The coaches can be expected to be somewhat deflated for a couple of days. But if it keeps up it's called a lack of character.

WVU's offense is very different than the option attack Navy runs. There is a reason that Alabama doesn't run the wishbone anymore, and that no other BCS team runs the option to the degree that Navy does. (Ralph ran it at GT to a degree). On the other hand, Air Force had recent success running the option. It's a good offense for military schools and the schedule they play. However, it won't work in a BCS conference.

Paul Johnson would be a mistake. Fortunately, it's one that Radakovich will not make.

I agree that PJ would be a home run hire.

If he wants the job, we should hire him.

I'm not worried about his offense. We ran the option I and the Navy flexbone in the Hamilton/Fridge years and it was great.

We passed out of it more than Johnson's teams usually have but he is on record that he would throw more with a good throwing QB so I think it could be very similar. Our current personnel would fit his system incredibly well.

IOur current personnel would fit his system incredibly well.

Just because Gailey recruited for an outdated offense does not mean that we should hire a coach that can optimize it.

Johnson saying that he would run a different offense if he had the personnel is like a gay guy saying he would go straight if he could only find the right woman.

Wake up people...we fired Gailey because our passing game sucked... and you want to hire another guy who cannot coach the passing game? That is the triumph of hope over experience, I suppose.

Johnson is clearly an emotional favorite, but not a rational one. Like I said, that is mistake that Radakovich will not make.
