WHITE OUT officially scheduled for November 20th against Miami on Thursday night, UNDER THE LIGHTS!!

Here is the schedule:
http://ramblinwreck.cstv.com/ot/04-geot-promotions.html

...and here is what they say about it:
November 20th vs. Miami at 7:30 p.m. (Thursday)
WHITE OUT: Wear Your White!
Wreckfest begins 2.5 hours before kickoff on Fowler Street and Peter's Parking Deck
Yellow Jacket Alley - the football team arrives on Yellow Jacket Alley 2 hours and 15 minutes before kickoff
Pyrotechnic display during National Anthem and at various points throughout game
Honda Award presentation to Amanda McDowell, NCAA Singles Tennis National Champion.
Letterwinners recognition

This will be pretty awesome if we can get everyone to buy into it and dress up. We just need to make sure it is well advertised and everyone is well aware by the time the game gets here.

The only thing that I would say is that it is probably going to be cold at a night game in late November.

White T-shirts are easy to come by, but not many people own or are willing to buy a white coat or jacket.

Just a thought...

I guess I am going to wear my white jersey on top of a fleece--as Mustang is correct, I do not own a white coat/jacket and really have no plans to do so.

And now TIC -- besides, white after Labor Day? We really are fashion-deprived engineers. ;) (completely TIC)

Terrance Moore in the Ajc this morning had a great piece on ugag overdoing their blackout and needed to cut back on it and only save it for a game or two that are very important...In other words Richt has wore it thin...

I think the AA picked the best game for our official White-Out...I was just thinking this morning that the Miami Game would be our toughest remaining game and yes I think it will be tougher than the Ugager game...I know others will disagree, but that game I.M.H.O. might very well be our toughest and against the most stout defense we will face all year...Their new DC is one of the top 2 or 3 DC's in college football and what they did to UF in the 1st 3 quarters was great...Just in my opinion, might be our toughest remaining game...

Miami's Defense is good, as it has been every year; but using the Florida game as an indicator isn't justifiable in my mind. Hawaii was keeping Florida out of the endzone for the first and a good bit of the 2nd quarter. Tebow only threw for like 130 or so yards in that game. Hawaii does not have a good defense. Just because Miami held on a little longer than Hawaii from stopping the Florida offense from exploding in a firery ball of touchdowns and controversial last second field goals doens't make their defense that much scarier.

Miami destoryed aTm this year and last year. It was almost the exact same thing, because aTm sucked then and now. I am waiting to see what happens this weekend against UNC to really make my opinion of Miami. I have a feeling their offense will not score 20 against a slightly better than average UNC defense and if BD gives the ball to Tate enough, I think this game could be a close UNC victory.

Miami lives off of reputation, and right now thats all I see.

Also I don't like the white out on a Thur. I know we don't really have to many home games to do it on, but Thur. games will probably only have like 47k people. I guess we'll see how it works, lets hope they buy shirts again for the students.

November games tend to bring a half gold, half navy crowd due to this, so we will likely have a navy-white-out. Should still look pretty cool though.

In late November at night, I'll probably be there wearing a white sweatshirt under my black leather jacket.

Dumb plan. It probably would have worked better at any other home game of the season.

I'm already set.

So leave off the jacket. It won't be THAT cold. I was at the UGA/Tech game last year while it was sprinkling and it didn't get too bad.

Why are we doing this? Why are we joining the likes of Notre Dame and UGA in this ridiculous custom? I don't like it. Winning is what matters and if something like this makes it more likely that the team will win, the team is poorly motivated to begin with.

I was kinda hoping for FSU on Nov 1. Better chance for warmer weather.

This is about atmosphere, plain and simple. I really don't give two flying ****s if ugay, nd, or penn state do it. All I care about is a Thursday night, in BDS, and the place being electric. Add onto that the unity of all white throughout the place, and the fans on their feet as we stomp miami. The high from that game could give us tremendous momentum heading into athens.

I don't care how cold it is... I'm just going to layer really well under a bigger white shirt.

People, you are forgetting!! The game will be at 7:30. Plenty of time to get liquored up before KO and then we'll all be stripping because of how hot it is!

1. Go to store
2. Find white Tech hoody/sweater/sweatshirt
3. Wear to game
4. Layer if needed
5. Stop bitching and moaning about the temperature because the band uniforms do precious little to keep out the cold.
6. Watch the Jackets beat miami
7. ?????
8. Profit!!!

I think there's plenty of unity already. Everyone cheers when we succeed and sings the Budweiser song and apaprently all goes to the bathroom at the same time (that's been my experience anyway). The place will be electric before kickoff regardless and will continue to be electric only if we stay in the game or pull way ahead. And if we lose, it will cease to be electric, even if everyone there is covered head to toe in white. It doesn't look cool to me. It looks almost desperate. Plus, it provides motivation for the opponent and looks really REALLY dumb if we lose OR if we announce the white-out but then can't execute it because people wear other stuff to handle the weather. There's not a TON of downside to this, but I think there's more downside than upside. That's all I'm saying. That, and from a gut-reaction standpoint, it just seems stupid to me.

Really my message is one of positivity. I have tremendous faith in the team and the coach to get motivated; the fans shouldn't need extra reasons to be excited. therefore I think this is unnecessary.

But, if it makes everyone else happy, I'm nobody to stand in the way. I just hope we win.
