How do you feel about the triple option offense?

As far as our great achievement in 2014 goes, isn't it true we wouldn't have gone to the ACCCG if Miami and UNC had not declared themselves ineligible? And wouldn't FSU have gotten the Orange Bowl spot if they weren't in the BCS playoff?

No, we won the coastal outright that year. Miami went 3-5 and UNC went 4-4 in conference. Yes, FSU would have gone if not for the playoff. We still deserved to go and we proved it.

come on dude

So you ignore the success of the offense against FSU because we didn't win, but then in the next line still manage to bash the offense despite the fact that we did win? Nice logic there.

Also... I don't know how many times I can say that PJ is responsible for recruiting, defense, etc. You see a loss and immediately blame the offense. I see us put up 35 points and almost 500 yards of offense against FSU and really that it's dumb as öööö to blame the offense. We lost because we couldn't stop them. That has been too consistent over the years, so that is where I direct most of my criticism. When I criticize the offense, I look for specific problems rather than just condemning the entire scheme that has, in large part, been tremendously successful for us.

No, I blame the coach for the entirety of the program. I do not blame the players, unlike some of the CPJ fans.

I don't think the offense we run helps recruiting, which creates a cascading effect of negativity...but ultimately the HC is responsible for both sides of the ball.

You, OTOH, point to a loss vs FSU as some sort of victory for the scheme when in actuality, we lost so who gives a shit about stats?

92 you might be an expert on cascading effects of negativity.

I like our offense. When it's humming, it's a beautiful thing to watch. It's different, and I think it gives us a chance to be more competitive against teams with more talent. We have a lot in common with the service academies, who also run it - higher academic standards, limited curriculum, smaller fan base and budget. These things handicap recruiting against key ACC rivals and UGA, and unfortunately, as much as I hate to say it, aren't going to go away.

Johnson just told us that we shouldn't expect to be competitive with more talented teams.

So which is it?

I do. He makes it interesting, sometimes. I don't think everyone agreeing always is beneficial. This thread was actually pretty good.
