Who do you want as next HC?

Ted Roof.

Why? We could get him at a great price.

He would need to understand that the money saved between his and CPJ contract would be used to hire qualified OC & DC, who both are going to make significantly more than we pay now anyway.

CTR can then focus on Recruiting, raising the Brand, bringing back former fans and Motivation.

Unlike CPJ, Ted has the proper hatred of ugag.

Crap - if kirby can do it you know Ted can.

Why don’t we just stomp on our own dicks every Saturday in the fall?

Prediction: When the next coach does worse (which he probably will), people will blame Johnson for running our program into the ground and leaving a bare cupboard of 3O players.

There's no way to convince the Johnson haters they're wrong

it's not like the next coach is gonna have the cupboard of players Johnson did in 2008.

You can’t expect GT to consistently beat teams who recruit star players that could never get in or stay in school at GT. With less talent, depth and fan support CPJ has multiple wins over Clemson, Georgia, Florida State and Virginia Tech plus good bowl wins over Usc and miss st.

In this era of college football For GT to win they have to do somehing unorthodox on offense be it a paul johnson triple option or go the other extreme of a mike leach style. The fbs is full of bad teams all running the same spread offense. Either way, Like leach at TT and wazzou, briles at baylor or ken n at navy, you are going to have to do it with offense and hope the defense can get a few stops and takeaways along the way.

The duke game was horrible but a GT effort like that vs an evenly matched opponent has been rare under johnson.

Awww:((( Somebody is mad. Being a Duke fan would be more your speed.

To answer the question, Mike Tomlin is not a bad idea.
You sound like someone who would eat the peanuts out of Johnson’s sh!t. Just admit it. Cutcliffe owns Johnson.

Yeah, we do have some disadvantages when academics are woven into the recruiting picture. But there are some who say that offering a good education should often be an advantage.

I have tried for years to find the SAT /ACT scores of all the players for every team. Can not find them. So people claiming that opponents have players that could never get in or stay at GT - where are they getting the facts? Many claim that NO player at any SEC school can get into GT. I find it hard to believe and that is why I would like to know their source of info. Not their source of imagination.

“Multiple wins over Clemson, Georgia, Florida State, and Virginia Tech.” Yeah, I guess and they were nice. Buy then if we say that I suppose we would have to say Many Multiple Losses to those teams. And I guess UM (even though a Coastal game) does not count?

I don’t know, perhaps you are correct. But if Tech Men are so smart, why waste money on a futile exercise like this? GT just can not overcome challenges and find ways to achieve something.

2 of last 3 vs ugag. 1 of last 4 vs puke. And it seems giving someone 10 freaking years is not enough time! How judgmental and unfair of us. Total insanity at best.

I'm gonna pull a jacketup and say if Ted is ever named HC at Tech, the school has unquestionably given up on football.

You mad bro? Posts calling other posts a waste of time are a waste of time.

We had the Stone Age, then the Bronze Age, then the Iron Age.... and now the Irony Age.

This is a little dated and not complete.

Kinda supports the fact that Tech athletes in general have higher SAT scores.

I'm generally pro CPJ, but I think it's fine and reasonable to debate this stuff. I'm open to serious ideas of how we can do better. However, anyone who non-sarcastically suggests Ted Roof as a solution to our relative football mediocrity has forfeited the right to be taken seriously in such a debate.
