Who do you want as next HC?

I wasn’t happy about the Roof hire, but I think he’s done a good job for the most part. I don’t know how his numbers match up against past DC’s but my guess is they are pretty good.
I like Ted, I've always liked Ted. But what exactly has he done as a coach that's above mediocre? Why is mediocre an acceptable standard unless you're a loser. To a loser mediocre's not so bad.

I would hire Brent Venables. Defense wins championships and he's about the best defensive coach in the land and still relatively young.

The only reason Ted is liked or even tolerated here is because he played here. Otherwise everyone would want his head on a stake for the crap defenses he has fielded.

There really is no excuse for the Duke game. Surely we can field a defense as good as Army.

I just think Roof is the best DC we’ve had with PJ as our coach.

Les would never make it at GT. He's had to recruit at LSU where there are literally no academic standards

And he played and graduated from Michigan which has no standards either.

And CPJ coached at ga. southern, where, as we all know, the S/As are brain surgeons.

Would be nice to hire a guy “like” Patterson, but younger version.

No TO coaches again - it shrinks our already smaller than normal pool of recruits and especially hurts recruiting D players. Changing DC , again, is a waste of time.

Need a super leader and recruiter as HC. NOT someone married to a certain O.

Need to give that HC the money to hire great OC and DC.

No doubt it will take time to overcome the problems created by a HC who only cares about one side of the ball. Just like CJP is having to overcome what blewitt and Gregory created.

But it can be done.

CPJ is a very good coach at ga. southern. He can flourish in that environment. But not at a level like the ACC, much less sec / B10. Can you imagine how monster size teams like those would eat us alive? Oh, wait. Iowa in Orange Bowl.

And when we beat ugag, that will again prove the insanity of his system.

Dan Mullen would be a good one if he does not get gobbled up by one of the big sec programs this year. I don’t think he likes Starkville.

Lower your standards in the classroom and you'll get more wins. Probably get Tech to average another win or two every year if we can just have a fog the mirror test like most other schools for student athletes.

I went to Louisville where the players can barely ööööing read. I love barely being bowl eligible with the reining Heisman trophy winner.

I agree with you that CPJ has not emphasized the defensive side or STs at all, and that has cost us. But you point out the Orange Bowl from 2009 but seem to ignore the OB from 3 years ago? Against a mighty SECw team who spent time as the #1 team in the country. 2/3 over uga and I believe it’s 3/4 over VT. Both teams considerably larger than us?

I think we just need a third OL coach. And a special teams coach...oh wait.

Johnson can’t leave. We’ll never win another game, no other coach will ever IIWII as well as him, and we’ll have to stop playing checkers to play chess.

Just be patient. His offense will start clicking when all the four star recruits out there realize they can make the league by playing an offense that no one else runs.

Maybe we can get David Cutcliffe.
Awww:((( Somebody is mad. Being a Duke fan would be more your speed.

To answer the question, Mike Tomlin is not a bad idea.

Did not mean to ignore OB 2014. Just as I am sure you did not mean to ignore puke & unc in 2014.

And willing to bet most would say this year we have Lost 3 (if not 4) we should have Won and Won, perhaps, 1 we figured to Lose.

I didn’t cherry pick any wins or losses, you did, I’m just pointing it out. As the season has unfolded, I think our record is indicative of our team. Until uva I thought we were a really good team with bad luck. Turns out, we’re a mediocre team that can’t create its own good luck. We’ve had worse teams. We’ll probably still beat uga tho.

How bout we pull a fast one on JMU and take THEIR coach/players.

(No but seriously Mike Houston checks a lot of boxes for a lot of people)
