Head to head is a definitive tiebreaker when records are equal. But, if you have a better record and have played a comparable schedule, you are the better team. At the end of the regular season, do we send a 6-2 team to represent the division in the conference championship ahead of a 7-1 team if the 6-2 team beat the 7-1 team?

Stop trying to apply logic to the selection. Those assholes on the selection committee are NOT engineers.

Washington is at risk. Here's why:

You can't justify OSU >> Penn St, but OSU >> Washington is more subjective.

So in order to take OSU you need to also take Penn St.

Bama+Clemson+OSU+Penn st

But OSU didn't have to play an extra game (the Championship) that they could've well lost

Unfair to penalize PSU for one extra loss when they play more games
They lost two before the extra game and their total strength of schedule was not different.. Since when did winning not matter?

I hope they just expand this thing to 8 teams every year with 5 automatic berths for P5 conference champs and 3 wild cards. It's idiotic to have this 4 team format with 5 big conferences. Someone's always going to feel like they've caught the shaft.

Keep it 4. Adds to drama. That said, this is gonna cost GT a playoff bid in a year or two.

Funny to me that OSU and Michigan thought their game was a play-in game for the playoffs, and now it looks like it was totally irrelevant. Ha ha
It still was. If Michigan wins none of this happens cause Penn st doesnt make the championship game.

OK, I admit OSU has a better case for being the better team. But if the committee is supposed to consider conference championships, then Penn State may make sense depending on how much they weight the championship.

There would still be drama in determining the 3 wild card teams, but at least the conference champs would be locked in and therefore each conference would be ensured of some playoff money flowing into their coffers every year.

There is zero chance ohio st gets in, its hillarious that these idiots who get paid to follow this öööö dont understand how the committee has worked.

And to speak with a straight face about penn st jumping a 1 loss conference champion but not ohio st, whom they beat, is so ööööing retarded

committee better take psu otherwise their credibility (conf champs matter) will take a big hit.
