Wisconsin fires Paul Chryst

All these contracts are absurd, along with some of the expectations. Perhaps stupidest of all is Texas A&M, they hired and then re-upped that Jimbo dolt and are now stuck with $95M tab and can't fire him. Worse yet, with that kind of a contract, they can't even go in and tell him to hire an offensive coordinator since he makes more than the AD and Prez combined. If you're gonna lose, you can lose cheaply as opposed to $95M for 10 years.

Auburn coming before years end. Will grab neon.

Wiscy hard to recruit to be elite. Excellent program but unable to grab depth of ohst pnst or mich. Programs like them and mich st can get to the conf crown in big 3 down years but difficult to sustain. Takes an Alvarez or someone special. Love what they’ve done with it over the years though.

Midlevel fb programs (us?) need to recruit big which is why the sanders of the world have some value. As you saw recently, saying we are great recruiters isn’t actually being one. The juice needs to start on the field with wins, not at the Waffle House. We are left with an average roster, no more. Cpj and cgc talent is not much different. The difference is cpj was a helluva schemer and coach.

We need another X's and O's coach like CPJ was. Not saying we need to go back to triple option at all. A good, offensive minded HC that knows X's and O's and can get the most out of their recruits. I may have just described a unicorn, but I believe we can do this again (like say, Chadwell).

Part of Wisc problem is the rise of Minnesota. Those two schools are recruiting to the same base. Let Wisc take their pick of 5 MN players, and you have a much stronger team.

I don't think Auburn can afford to take a flyer like Deion. I'd expect a coach with college and NFL experience - someone who has contacts to get guys to the NFL.

10, 11, 13, 8, 10, 4 (COVID w/ 3 Ls), and 9 win seasons.

Won a Holiday Bowl, Cotton Bowl, and Orange Bowl (among others)

Lost a Rose Bowl (among others)

They have delusions of grandeur, if they expect better.

They have higher standards they we do. By their standards, both 2020 and 2021 sucked and they are flat-out not good this year, already out of the top 25 and any talk of playoffs.

They don't embrace mediocrity up there. "It Is What It Is" type attitudes get coaches fired as do strings of 6-7 win seasons. That used to be the case with us (See "Gailey, Chan") but 10+ years of PJ Option football now have too-many GT fans thrilled with a 6-7 win season. Clown didn't help this but that attitude amongst our fans came straight from ol' PJ.

WISC is a top-25 program in terms of $$$$. https://badgerswire.usatoday.com/20...e-ncaa-football-programs-according-to-forbes/

They've got the resources to compete with OSU and Michigan and most importantly, the attitude. Good luck to 'em.

They've got a near exact win percentage all-time as Tech at 59%. Paul Chryst won 72% of his games and 7-1 in bowl games (2-1 in BCS/CFP level bowls).

Their standards are ööööing stupid.

Nobody was happy with 6-7 win seasons under PJ, it's hilarious how he still occupies so much space in your head though.

So is Paul Chryst a candidate for us if Brent Key doesn't win 4 more?

I am not sure Chryst is a good fit for us. While I do like his moxie and his ideals, I think he will be taken as too coarse and straight forward. We seem to not like those type of head coaches at GT.

Afford cash-wise or afford wins-losses-wise?
You don't think Deion's stature in the NFL has anything to do with being able to pull the best guys in to get them ready for the NFL?
I think the only question for Auburn when it comes to Deion is has he proven himself enough when it comes to running a program.

He's not my top choice for the Tech job. He's not even my No. 2 choice.
But if it somehow happens that Deion is the next Tech coach ...
I'd be all about the Prime Time in the ATL.
