No. Key is a coach that is looking ahead to next season and apparently thinks Buster can be a strong OC for us and isn't going to cut off his nose to spite his face.

If Buster was on the OSU staff none of you would bitch except for the lack of full time spent recruiting (if it isn't a blackout period now).

Ugag is our hated rival, but also won the national championship last season and may do it again this year (I hope OSU knocks their dicks off). We hired someone who was apparently a key cog in their offensive coaching staff and want that skillset and asset for ourselves. Yeah, Key is a cuck.
Buster's such a strong OC candidate that Key named Weinke Co-OC. What kind of high caliber OC is willing to accept half the position? This just stinks all around, but what it does for me is I'll be less patient if he's requiring too much OJT and if he can't deliver right away. He needs to recruit high quality recruits, develop the raw talent we have & gameplan what parts we have to score points. He obviously doesn't feel he needs the time to get our team ready because he's got this all extra time to help the mutt out.

Weinke was given a raise for what has done on the flats. CBK didn’t want to lose Weinke. However Weinke is probably not ready to be a full time OC. CBF was in line to become UGA OC if Monken left. If CBK turns GT back into a 6-7 game winner on the annual then CBF will probably gone quick. Weinke should be ready for full time OC duties by then.

Winning 6 with next year’s schedule isn’t a big accomplishment especially since they just won 5 with Geoff’s staff.

Six is the minimum number of wins for next year to be considered a success in my opinion. The biggest argument for keeping Coach Key was his level of success with Collins' staff and players, so in my mind there is no transition year.

According to Ken's article, the link for which GTFletch posted, Faulkner has been Moncken's "advisor" at the cesspool. Using your logic, what kind of high-caliber OC needs an "advisor"? And yet Moncken says that Faulkner has been "invaluable". Also our new WR coach was the co-OC at WKU, so this is obviously not an uncommon thing.

I think it's essentially a way to get them more payola in a very flat organizational hierarchy.

I have assistants and technical advisors. Companies have AVP’s, AD’s, etc. Never seen Co-VP, Co-Director, Co-GM, etc. At the end of the day someone calls the shots. That person is the OC. Two Co-OC’s is not a good org structure nor is a OC that only has a portion of OC responsibilities because someone else needs to do a fair amount of his work for him.

Since we haven't won 6 since Coach Paul Johnson, I think that would be an accomplishment, especially when you consider CBK öööö the bed vs UVA, got his ass handed to him vs FSU & Miami,
Uva was the fault of long not being able to get his head of his own ass. Fsu is back. Miami. öööö Miami.
