1) A 4-4 ACC record and beating UGA

or

2) A 8-0 record, berth in the ACC championship game, and a loss to UGA

Beating UGA

It could very well happen too! We've got a solid defense and know they don't fare too well against an option attack (ie. West Virginia).
 
Hmmmm... either way we make a bowl. So the real question is would I rather beat UGA or appear in the ACC championship game.

I know it's going to be an unpopular choice but I pick #2. Just can't pass up the chance to win the ACC.

I prefer 8-0 and the loss to UGA.

But I don't live in Georgia either.

And yes I understand all the recruiting arguments etc. and I agree with theose arguments, but I just think it would give us much more cred. If we go 4-4 and beat UGA it will be seen as a fluke, and dismissed by most people anyway.
 
Number 1...no contest. I wonder how many people who choose number 2 were following Tech football when we last beat U[sic]GA? Not that I was...it was, unfortunately, a long time ago for someone my age....

Unless our 4 losses were early in the season (I guess that would be a loss to VT, BC, Clemson and probably FSU), then we went on a roll late in the season. Then you could write it off as the offense getting going.
 
Beat UGA.


My answer might change if we'd won 3 in a row vs them, but as things stand now, Beat UGA is always going to be the answer, no matter what circumstance you put up there.

Show of hands, who wrote off that loss to u[sic]ga the week before the ACCCG because they knew we were gonna play for the conference championship. I sure didn't. Especially after having to sit in Sanford Stadium long after the game was over, then having to walk through campus back to the bus home. I didn't take any solace whatsoever in the fact that we had a chance to win the ACC. All I could think about was the fact that we lost to u[sic]ga...again.

#1 All day, every day, until the end of time.

I wrote off that loss before it even happened because we were starting Reggie Ball. I thought it would make it easier to take since I knew it was going to happen. Unfortunately...it really didn't.
 
I am with beej, right now with the last win 8 years ago, all that matters is beating UGA.

If we sustain some decent winning percentage (above 40%) over UGA in any given period, the ACC championship will matter more. But as the things are, nope.
 
Loss to UGA directly before ACC championship tarnishes it in my eyes - mainly because I will have to hear all year about how they beat the acc champion, blah blah blah (granted, I would do the same thing if it were reversed)...
 
It depends on UGA's season. If they're undefeated #1 and playing to go to the championship, I say beating UGA is sweeter especially because it will wreck their whole season. Otherwise I take 8-0.

Besides what would they say?

I think that is mostly because due to their dominance in the series as of late, they don't take it as seriously anymore. Give us seven straight wins the in series, THEN ask them that question.
 
We could win only ONE game every year, and lose the rest as long as the ONE win was aginst the mutts!!!

If you offered me a million bucks, or beating UGA to knock them out of a NC picture.....Id take the later in a heartbeat!!!

TO HELL WITH GEORGIA!!!!!
 
I'd take the million bucks, then pocket half of it and use the other half to bribe Stafford into throwing pics.
