Would you prefer ?

8-0, i'm not too worried about beating UGA this season, in a few years the bulldawgs will be GT's own personal "female dog" anyways.

This thread makes me sad. Don't let refrigeratormover see it.

500K is steep. Reggie threw the UGA games for half that.

Do you think he got $250k?

How much do you think we'd have to pay him to admit publicly that he took the bribe in the first place?

We've lost 7 frickin' games in a row!!! 2006 my answer was different. I want to ACC and didn't care about the UGA game. After walking out of Bobby Dodd last year watching the inbreds wave seven fingers in the air as we passed, no championship is more important than the game in Athens.

#1 with a bullet. Nobody has any respect for the ACC anyway, Wake Forest won it ... it's like winning Solitaire.exe. The cards cascade down but does anyone really care ?

I went to Georgia Tech for 5 and a half years. I started in Spring 2001. I have never seen Georgia Tech beat that God damned team. I got pneumonia one year camping out for UGA tickets, and I would have gladly taken that for a Tech win. There is only one thing that matters during the football season for me. Eleven preseason games, one that matters.

To Hell with Georgia!

WoW, you really get it!

2006 says hello.

Show of hands, who wrote off that loss to u[sic]ga the week before the ACCCG because they knew we were gonna play for the conference championship. I sure didn't. Especially after having to sit in Sanford Stadium long after the game was over, then having to walk through campus back to the bus home. I didn't take any solace whatsoever in the fact that we had a chance to win the ACC. All I could think about was the fact that we lost to u[sic]ga...again.

#1 All day, every day, until the end of time.

I was at that game, and the last 11. I scalped a single ticket, because my girlfriend and her UGA friends sat in the student section. I sat all by my lonesome behind the Georgia bench. You're damn right I'd rather have beaten them than win the ACC. I've never been mad enough to fight someone over loosing the ACC. I can't say the same for loosing to Georgia.

Beating UGA is #1. Always has been and always will be.

This is a stupid thread, anyway. Since Tech has been in the ACC (1983), we have only beaten UGAg when we were ranked above them. Therefore, a 4-4 Tech team would be ranked well below UGAg and probably lose the game as history has dictated.

Also, I don't see Tech ever winning the ACC Championship game directly after losing to the mutts the week before, as evidenced in 2006. The team was so down after losing to the nad-lickers, we only scored 3 points on Wake Forest the following week.

we only scored 3 points on Wake Forest the following week.

Actually the score was 9-6. Worst CFB game I have ever been to. 5 F'ing field goals. 5!. And we had #21. Still couldn't score a TD. If WesleyD21 and I hadn't gotten so drunk at the landing after wards, would've been the worst trip EVER.

Here's my litmus test for this question:
-Who won the ACCCG in 2003?
-Who won the GT-UGA(miserable queer bags) game in 2003?

Not many know the answer to #1 but ever one knows the answer to #2.

Win over UGA anyday...

I started the thread (sorry it didn't meet your approval, mover  ) because

a) I freaking hate the Mutts

b) I wanted to see how deep the obsession runs

Gentlemen, it is an obsession and we need to either:

1) drop the freaking series with UGA so we can move on. We act like a bunch of sixteen year olds obsessing over the girl who broke up with us. I am 42 so I have ween more than my share of losses. I bet you any amount of money that there wil not be a decade during the rest of my life where we will even by 5-5 against them.

or

2) move the gd series to opening weekend so we can focus on uga during the offseason and still have something to look forward to. Most seasons end on a downer because of the loss and that has no indications of changing on a consistent basis.

Face the facts, and if you don't believe it look at the freaking numbers, since desegregation, they have a quality and depth of ahlete that we simply can not match due to our academic arrogance and limited cirriculum.

and this is the bottom line 'cause Stone Cold says so !

We need to beat them this year, and then use the ENSUING UGAGGER RIOTS as a justification to end the series for the safety of our fans, painting the UGA football program and it's craptastic fanbase for what it is in the national media - the embodiment of all that is evil.

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

I don't think I'll ever agree with that.

What this thread is boiling down to is this:

1) Would you rather Tech had a great season (ACC Champ. Game) but lose to UGA (and preserve UGA's national title hopes). Or (2) would you rather see a crappy Tech season, but bring UGA down with us?

I chose the former, but many posters here seem to be salivating over the latter!

So what you're saying is that we should give up on having a better team than U[sic]GA and competing on a national level because it will never happen due to our "academic arrogance and limited cirriculum"? Because if we ever want to be relevant on the national scene again, we clearly have to be as good or better than U[sic]GA. Are you David Braine? I'm guessing you were one of the people who was happy with seven wins a season, because at Georgia Tech it's pretty clear we can never win nine or ten a season consistently. This was one of the dumbest posts I have seen on here...if you don't think we can ever be an above average team that can contend with U[sic]GA, why are you even following Tech football?
