You are in charge of the NCAA

I'm trying to recall when half our team missed a bowl game due to academics but am failing.

no pun.

To be fair, he said he failed out half of his class, not half of the team. Could be as few as ten players probably.

Not that I believe him. Probably an exaggeration, if it's true at all.

Back to discussion, the answer for football in college is to reduce scholarships down to 65 total, 20 maximum in one year. This will cause kids to go to school and join the team to help fill the roles as true walkons. It also spreads the wealth and also makes recruiting real student athletes a priority. (including the loss of a scholarship due to attrition)

Mtown, don't you get 400 just for showing up?

I'm for 1000 mins plus the added security you suggested. This solves a LOT of current issues.
6 years to complete 4---period.
Fewer academic hours required during Fall with APR rules reflecting such.
Sliding scale on scholarships allowed per SAT/ACT scores-i.e. 27 for 1200 avg., 29 for 1300, etc. (Imagine the butthurt at ugag, etal.)

Of course, the PC police would erupt.

It's not like I posted pictures disproving his unfounded claims or anything... But stingtalk never lets facts get in the way.

They just be jealous of your phd :laugher:
