This hoax is nothing compared to Notre Dame convincing the entire country that they had a great defense.

Hell, if ND survived the student dying due to coaches' decisions or the girl who killed herself because her claims of being raped by ND football players (or was it some other sport?) went uninvestigated then this should be a walk in the park.

The only way this could get crazier is if, once they realized they were having a good season, Notre Dame invented the girlfriend. Then, she dies, and once the team lost, they could say that someone made her up. Te'o found out about the hoax before the game, and that's why they played badly. Notice he found out about it before the national championship game.

He does set off gaydar. A lot of the guys at the bar I watch a lot of games at thought he was gay. But who knows.

This sounds like the sort of thing you do when you are in the closet.

And let's keep this in mind: he's a mormon. playing at a conservative catholic school (conservative relative to other schools, not necessarily other catholic schools). and he wants to play in the nfl. there has never been an openly gay active-roster nfl player.

They should have Stanford students deliver coffins Onto the field where after a short memorial service, the Stanford band jumps out of the coffins and starts playing the theme for Titanic, My Heart will go on.
 
Whats pretty ööööing funny in all this is Brian Kelly awarded a game ball to the fake girlfriend at some point during the season. That game ball is now the most highest valued sports memorabilia in Notre Dame history.
