Wait.. We just took a QB who wasn't even a full time starter? WHAT. THE. F---.
Quality kid. Loves Tech. Strong academics. Wants to be here.
Am I missing any?

It's never as good or bad as it seems.
Way too much negativity on this thread. I doubt any of y'all know that much about this guy, and it shouldn't be surprising that our second-choice QB after Mitchell isn't as vaunted. We've had many QB recruits do well for Tech, even if they don't work out at QB: Jamal Golden and David Sims, for instance. Those guys may have had better resumes, but I just can't think of other former QB recruits off the top of my head. Demon Smith, but he's young yet.

This. Calm down everyone and watch him run starting at 1:35

Golden was Player of the Year in Alabama and Sims had multiple Major D1 offers to play RB, so those aren't really good comparisons.
Days is probably a better comparison of what to expect from Griffin. Athletic kid who was a good, but not great HS QB.

According to Carvell, his dad played here. First I've heard of it.
Justin Thomas wasn't a full time starter Sr year either, but everyone is creaming their pants about his speed/potential because he had a Bammer offer.
Everybody just needs to calm the fvck down. It's not like we're turning away 4-5 star kids to give this kid a scholly.
from when he originally committed to AU:
Lawson said his college decision was endorsed by his father, Carl Lawson Sr., who played fullback on Georgia Tech’s 1990 national championship team. The Yellow Jackets are one of Lawson’s 25 offers.
