Come down off the ledge.

It can't be any worse than being the worst coach in Duke's history.

I'd rather hire the worst coach in Duke's history than listen to the ramblings of the worst fan in Georgia Tech history.

Everyone improves at their job with experience. He wouldn't be my first choice, but he would be the most likely pick given the circumstances. If he hires good coordinators, he could be our Dabo, but with more dignity.

Also, Mover hasn't been in this good of a mood when posting in years. Either he got laid, or something is up.

It would likely be very bad. Cutcliffe said Duke was the most out of shape football team he had seen.

I actually look more forward to next season now. New QB. Even more pissed off coach with something to prove. It will be much more entertaining than watching Vad Lee run out of bounds two yards short of the first down on 3rd and 5.

This.

Don't understand why everyone's so in a twist about Vad leaving.

QB's that have left GT since 2002: Al Pena, Pat Carter, Taylor Bennett, Johnathan Garner, Byron Ingram, Steven Threet, Jordan Luallen and Vad Lee.

I think every single one of those I was expecting big things from, other than perhaps Pat Carter, I always saw him as a WR, and Ingram, just looked too slight.

We were all expecting big things from Luallen. He was pushed down the depth chart at Cincinnati at FB and got only a few ball touches his senior year.

Garner was released from his committment by Urban Meyer when he brought Tebow with him when Urban was hired at Florida. Garner was a 4*, somehow. He had a very weak arm. Not a slam of him. You could just see him struggle making simple out pattern throws warming up.

None of those QB's did anything major leaving GT. I am not sure how Vad will do.

Nope. OP is correct because of the financial mess that our brilliant leaders have put us in. Typical reactionary moves not based on rational thinking at the time.

If Auburn, or anyone, wanted CPJ after 2009 then we should have at least had the thought that he may have hit his zenith at GT and bid him best wishes. That year, one of our best teams in decades lost to one of ugag's worst.

But NONE of it matters now. There is, in fact, no need to approach the ledge. Even if we go 1 -11 next year, we still have a huge payout to him.

I think he is here at least 2 years and the school will not help us one bit.

So, in fact, it will not matter if we are happy or sad during the next season.

CPJ holds all the cards to either fail or succeed. To stay or to go.

And I never would have thought in a million years that PJ would ultimately be a continuation of Gailey after his first 2 years, but here we are. Outside of a handful of elite, you never can guess what you will get from a coach. Remember when we used to laugh at Dabo?

USuCk is still laughing at Dabo - 5IAR

I wish our only problem was beating UGA.

If FSU is truly back, Clemson may never play in another ACC championship - or perhaps just rarely play in one. That is why all the sudden this season you hear them grumbling about realignment. They see the writing on the wall. Second best to FSU, year after year. They were ok being over there when VT and UM were stronger teams. Now, they are all for sending FSU over our way.

FSU has a transcendental athlete at QB this year who has taken an already ridiculously talented roster and given them a chance to be one of the greatest teams ever. If FSU pounds Auburn like I believe they will, they are going to be compared to the greatest of teams in college football history.

They will probably be great post Winston, but Clemson will be plenty competitive with them. They are replacing great talent with great talent themselves.

Not FSU style talent. Clemson is just a notch below them and really below Miami too. Miami is just a train wreck when it comes to utilizing talent nowadays. Plus, Winston is there at least one more year. If FSU returns to being the FSU of old, I say they probably win 80% - 90% of the games they play against Clemson.

You are seriously underselling Clemson, but ok. I'll amend my statement for your benefit.

I wish beating UGA and FSU were our only problems.

Anyone else friends with Mover on facebook?

I've seen my share of butthurt on ST, but his facebook butthurt sets the new record.

Seriously, we are talking about near d*d* level of ridiculousness. I'm just waiting for him to break out the shock collar.

He was.

Clemson is in the national discussion every year. They seem to wet the bed a couple of times when they are about to turn the corner, but still they are a real power.

They beat UGA at full strength and OSU on a national stage. Not shabby. And they have consistent talent on defense and offense from year to year.

It is premature to declare FSU is "back" because of that QB you mention. We will have to see whether they maintain when he leaves or whether they fall off as Auburn did without Newton.

I suspect Clemson and FSU will maintain at about the same level once Winston is gone. (And I don't think Clemson would get beaten quite so badly if they played again. If they played five times, Clemson would probably win at least one. )

Your point is valid. We laughed at Dabo but the Clemson program is much better off under his leadership than before.

P.S.
On a tangent, Dabo's success is evidence you do not need to be a tactical genius to be a success as a head coach. You just need to hire the right people and be a leader that can inspire others to perform. You can hire all the tactical genius you need if you can identify the talent.

Shiiiiiiiii.....Clemson ia supposed to have been great every year since we won the National Championship in 1990. We are still waiting. FSU is a different level of player.
