Come down off the ledge.

You are seriously underselling Clemson, but ok. I'll amend my statement for your benefit.

I wish beating UGA and FSU were our only problems.

For real. Clemson is not FSU level, but they are most definitely above Miami in just about every aspect. The current talent is better, the on field results have been much better, and the fan support is immensely better. Nothing is guaranteed, but Clemson's future looks much brighter than Miami's.

I don't know about the current talent being better. If you look back at recruiting ranking back to 2002, Clemson has only outrecruited Miami twice in that entire time. Miami has shot itself in the foot more often than not. I suppose I have just grown used to hearing all of these years how Clemson is practically an SEC team. FWIW, Taj Boyd, if I remember his recruitment correctly, would have probably ended up at Tennessee if Kiffin hadn't have been such a prick.

Were you watching last year? At least the UNC game?

Vad has the tools to be a very good QB. It just wasn't in the TO. Granted, he seemed a bit fragile between the ears this year but most of what made everyone say "WTF" was because of piss poor blocking. If PJ can't find blockers for this wunder-offense of his (whether it's because of personnel, coaching, or scheme), we'll be back at this sh!t this time next year.

I watched the whole year.

Not sure why you are so defensive of Vad yet willing to throw the whole OL under the bus. They work hard and are GT players as well.

If you can get some perspective you will see that Vad got as good or better blocking than any GT QB under Johnson. This year my "WTF" moments were when I saw Vad hesitate on open receivers and dance until the blocking broke down. The QB has to get the ball out of his hands and feel the rush. He has to throw the receiver open and not aim the ball while the DB is reading his eyes.

He has talent and always threw pretty passes. In the open field he can run well also. But for every highlight we got a head scratching decision, dancing backward when a few yards were there, winging a pass ten yards over the head of the receiver.

Less physically talented QBs did better with worse blocking. Decisions were his problem, not lack of support.

I don't fault him for leaving. I suspect CPJ let him know he was not the default incumbent and would likely lose the position without major progress next year. But CPJ did stick with him the whole year and gave him his shot.

I suspect he will land in an offense similar to what Texas ran with Vince Young. He is not as talented as Young but cold have success in such a simplified freestyle offense.

The issue with Clemson and Miami is people trot out CCG's wins against them to compare to CPJ, but Clemson and Miami are much better teams than CCG faced. We only beat VT once under CCG, obviously didn't beat UGA and lost to a lot of middling ACC teams.

I said in a thread earlier that the diamond and pistol made me worried about CPJ not focusing enough on execution, and that may indeed have been the case. I think CPJ brought in some variants of what he ran at Hawaii. But I'm guessing at Hawaii the OL focused for years on pass-blocking and WR's focused more on route-running and catching versus blocking. CPJ tried to do both the old and the new and it generally didn't work out, at least not against decent competition we couldn't play straight up.

QB's that have left GT since 2002: Al Pena, Pat Carter, Taylor Bennett, Johnathan Garner, Byron Ingram, Steven Threet, Jordan Luallen and Vad Lee.

I think every single one of those I was expecting big things from, other than perhaps Pat Carter, I always saw him as a WR, and Ingram, just looked too slight.

We were all expecting big things from Luallen. He was pushed down the depth chart at Cincinnati at FB and got only a few ball touches his senior year.

Garner was released from his committment by Urban Meyer when he brought Tebow with him when Urban was hired at Florida. Garner was a 4*, somehow. He had a very weak arm. Not a slam of him. You could just see him struggle making simple out pattern throws warming up.

None of those QB's did anything major leaving GT. I am not sure how Vad will do.

Who was the QB that went to delaware and won a natty championship?

well... enlighten us

In looking at it again, it is standard butthurtitis. It would fit in well in this forum... but I figure a former public figure with ties to the school wouldn't be so juvenile and negative about the team and coaching staff. Not as bad as I remember it being.

I don't think he'd ever publicly say it, but I think the coaching staff pissed him off royally when they passed on recruiting his son

Anyone else friends with Mover on facebook?

The staff didn't piss me off as I have stated many times what pissed me off was they didn't have the balls to tell me they were not going to recruit my son because of grades only for me to find out they had 25 or so guys they wanted with worse grades than my son, how would that make you feel?

Paul sucks a$$ as our coach and hopefully that will change soon.

I didn't say that you didn't have reason to feel slighted.
