So Dabo is selling Jesus....

Clemson deserves whatever flack their dumbass selves get from this. I won't even get into the absurdity of allowing baptisms on the practice field while the coaches and players are representing their public university in an official capacity. How does someone in the administration not have the prescience to realize that this could blow up in their faces ex post facto?

How could you not call in the coach and tell him to do this on his own time in his home or church, and to make sure he does it while not wearing school logos? That's just bad business. Unless, of course, this is what you want to sell to your customers. Watch Clemson milk this for all it's worth in South Carolina and across boosters and recruits' homes in the South. This is all part of the show.

No players involved in suit. Until that happens this is a non-story. Clemson is no different than anywhere else in the South. I'm sure prayers with Derrick Moore are out of bounds to this group as well.

This is going nowhere. Practically every athletic program, from pee-wee to college, in the South is like this. Some obscure Athiest outfit from Wisconsin isn't going to change that.

Gonna be good publicity for Clemmons. Soon enough, folks on Facebook will be asking me to "like" if I am not afraid to show my support Dabo and Jesus as once again us Christians are being persecuted.

"Prescience" and "ex post facto" . . . ? You do realize this is Stingtalk and not the Hive right?

At least you nerds understand what I'm saying. If I posted that on the UGA board, they'd accuse me of speaking in tongues and send an exorcist.

Dabo and Richt don't mind taking Jesus on the recruiting trail with them. Someone should ask Swag Kelly about it. I guess he was excommunicated.

Look man, if baptizing kids makes 'em play better then by-golly I will personally go baptize the whole coaching staff and team. I might have to hold the O-line coach under a little longer than the others.

Jesus in your heart = steroids. It's time to get the NCAA on the case and get some of the Clemson games vacated.

Everything about Clemson is clown shoes.

Last time I was up there, 2010, I couldn't help but laugh at their 30 minute Pledge of Allegiance, America the Beautiful, Say a Prayer, National Anthem, Moment of Silence, etc pre-game routine, honor the softball team, checkers team, etc.

I'm patriotic and all and am not one of those 'ewww religion is bad' types, but the presentation of this just screamed unsophisticated, redneck "MOAR IS BETTR!!!" Perhaps this is fitting for Clemson. Their pre-game routine is the Shoney's buffet of college football.

:bowrofl:

I thought Georgia was God's team, thus the big G on the side of their helmets. Dabo's juju must be stronger than Rev. Richt.

Go Jackets!

He is merely pandering to his base of alumni. Have you not visited SC before? They will eat this stuff up, and give CU even more money now.

The co-president of the FFRF, Annie Laurie Gaylor, told the News and Observer that "there are churches on every other corner, tax-free, where you can go and pray and you can go to Bible study, but it shouldn't be through the athletic department. You can have Bible study groups on campus, but they're supposed to be run by students."

Isn't the athletic department a separate, private entity?
