PJ... Extend or not to extend, that is the question!

Extend, Don't Extend, or Wait

why would you EVER need to extend him? let it expire then go year by year until you're done. He isn't going anywhere else. If he was to decide to go somewhere else--it's not like he would be bounded by the contract anyhow. Makes no sense to extend unless there was an type of evidence that anyone better was willing to offer, which there isn't.

If CPJ would've left for Auburn when he had a chance, he would have won a national championship. You guys are dumber than dumb if you think that a low-buyout CPJ isn't a huge target for a school that wants to win.

Sign the man. Given GT's current non-factory state, we really couldn't hope for better. I've always been a huge CPJ fan, but this year is actually making me think he really could put together one or two magical seasons over the next 6 or 7 years. I honestly believe that he could take us to the playoffs.

Are you actually retarded? Like I legitimately feel bad for making fun of you if you have some sort of mental disability.

That's going to help recruiting all right. You have no idea if the head coach and asst coaches will even be there when u get to campus. Try again.

I have to admit, some of you guys have presented solid reasons to sign him now. I tell you one thing big Paul Johnson and his offense has brought to GT: an identity. The entire nation identifies GT with the triple option. You cant think about GT without thinking about the TO. I couldnt tell you what kind of offense any other ACC team runs other than power running at BC. Love it or hate it, this is still builds the GT brand and makes us more attractive for TV because people tune into teams they can identify.

My guess is this guy is extremely successful in life. Talking fast cars and houses that smell like rich mahogany type success.

I like this idea. Not an oft-considered angle.

+1 Maybe we're capped at 8-10 wins until(if) we can put a defense together...but I'll take those with a more identifiable brand vs running "NFL style" offenses(which we've never done with much success, btw).

Extend Paul Johnson's contract, don't extend Paul Johnson's contract or wait?..

Don't extend. We were inches away from being 6-3 now and 3rd team in the state and a probable 7-5 finish if we had lost that game. Plus NCS is the mother of all trap games.

But at least wait. I want more for GT than what I have seen from CPJ.

I was wondering how many days it would take for one of you old farts to yell "trap game".

The answer is two. Two days.

Exactly, who are YOU calling and "old fart?"

BTW, you know that every game with an even or favored line is a trap game for Georgia Tech.

I'm not that old... compared to these guys!

Trap games are what happens when a team loses a game it should have won.

When we ran a NFL style offense, we never could recruit a QB to run it. I like our chances of finding an option QB over any other.

This is laughably dumb

So don't run a pro style offense. There are way more than 2 types of offenses despite what some of our fans believe. I formation doesn't necessarily equal pro style offense btw.
