CPJ has one year Wanted UT job

Didn't read it all, but AJC article quotes CPJ as not interested and didn't know/tell his lawyer to do that. One of you with access can link or directly quote it. You haters can have your thread, but get it out now and don't muck up the spring stuff that starts next week. Then hate during the summer. Mock the new Adidas stuff. But come August, go back to lurking.

Top rated kids don’t want to play in his offense

This argument is so well debunked, I don't know why it keeps coming up. I guess some people think that in the old days we had a couple five-star QBs trying to beat Reggie Ball out as a starter for 4 years.

When GT finally fires CPJ and gives away whatever gimmicks we had in our back pocket, thereby making the entire game about Jimmies and Joes, BDS will be empty and Tech football will be dead.

We have not ever been, nor will we ever be, able to compete with our neighbors in the Jimmies and Joes category. And that is magnified in the modern marketplace where basically every P5 team within one state boundary of us is running a semi-pro team.

Jesus. The only person interested in the UT job was our coach. Even I publicly announced I wasn't interested in the position. Ouch.

So well debunked, that every year multiple kids being recruited repeat “I don’t like their offense”

Wonder what most would do with a rep that did that on their own and in such a fashion?

That's not why your argument is flawed. Top rated athletes don't want to play at Tech because they have to go to class and study, and the majors are limited, and the women are fewer and smarter than them. I don't think CPJ's offense is responsible for that, but it's easier to use that excuse than to say, "I don't want to be a serious student while I'm in college."

And don’t forget - “we could never get a better coach at GT than CCG.”

Yeah, this is both a lack of self-awareness on CPJ's part

IMHO - this is the most disturbing part of the situation. Far be it for me to say that no job is unattainable and that you should have the passion and commitment to go after all the top jobs in America. But this shows a severe lack of understanding of his value in the marketplace.

Let’s say I believed all that BS. If we truly had that kind of disadvantage, why wouldn’t we fight back against it by hiring a coach that kids actually want to play for instead of an ornery Old coach that severely impacts their ability to play at the next level

We are 9-15 the last 3 years in the ACC. CPJ ain't nothing special
