What excuses do the CPJ lovers make now?

What the are you talking about? I'm not defending any of that. I'm saying that QB play had nothing to do with this loss. Neither did Kirvonte Benson's injury, for example. More things that are irrelevant.

fine. I'm tired of watching our D roll over like sad puppies and then watch our D suck it up when we need 'em to score. The 4th qtr was the 2nd half of the 2017 Duke game all over again.

Up 10 and neither side could do jack öööö to hold the lead. No D. No O. Surely you're not saying we should be fine with this?

What remaining game do you think we will win going forward? At what point does the team just give up?
The option sucks
It’s not boring for old farts
I prolly will stop watching. Got better things to do at noon on Sat
I guess half full stadiums get you excited
Why don’t you go over to the Hive if you think everything is fine.

Maybe TStan will stock free tampons in the restrooms so you can return to BDS without having to carry them in your clear purse.

Of course not. Just complain about the right things. CPJ deserves a lot of criticism here, but not for the O.

10 years of CPJ and my thoughts.... I still believe CPJ is a great football coach and GT is a great institution. Both the system he runs and GT make it difficult to recruit. Recruiting is the life blood of college football. CPJ isn't good at recruiting and neither is GT. We can call USF a directional school all we want but they have a better football team than we do. We are athletically at a disadvantage against most teams on our schedule. Coaching doesn't overcome that a majority of the time. I do feel it's time to part ways with Johnson.

The mix of dumbasses thinking players should qualify for college to play football is collectively here at GT. No teams we play care. Clemson cheats, Ugag cheats, South Florida cheats. GT football players graduate more than the normal students. We are dirty too we just say we aren't and half ass it.

This is a business. No longer amateur athletics. Quit saying it matters because it simply doesn't. It's not my choice nor desire for things to be this way, it's just the way it is.

let me be clear - I'm tired of the whole package. Invisible D. Invisible ST. Invisible O when the game's on the line.

SS, DY.

All fair. But I liked those great drives. Remember them?

yep they were nice, as was seeing a good backup.

But where were those drives when we needed 'em in the 4th?

ESPECIALLY considering how dismal our D is, our O has got to learn to finish games for us. It's our strength - no one would disagree to that. But time and again recently, it's failed to do so. These occurrences (Duke, UVA, Miami, now USF) aren't outliers anymore - they're trends.

The whole team just doesn't seem to know how to win - how to make those tackles or throws or not-fumble, etc.

I agree with all that! ... ... And now what? You wanna fire CPJ midseason?

Look if this game is replayed over and over again all season long, fire him. But this team can play ball. Let's give them a chance to give us a fun season.

I've not said that. I'm not a fan of the guy but I don't feel like being banned. I'm letting Akinji do the talking.

The point is that firing him midseason is bad even if you want him fired in general. We aren't Bill Lewis bad, and firing him midseason would poison the talent pool we're trying to fish in.

So if we're gonna ride this out, let's see how the season turns out before we make up our minds about him.

Again, I've not argued that point.

I still like Paul, I still like the offense he runs. I think he’s a great coach. I’m worried that replacing him will result in some Bill Lewis years. But unless we can turn this around...
Correction: CPJ is an average to slightly above average coach.

We were right in the middle of one that would have put the nail in the coffin, and Searcy fumbled. That's not on playcalling and it's not on CPJ for putting Marshall back in. öööö just happens. You aren't gonna score every time you get the ball.

I agree that we haven't been able to punch it in when we needed to the past couple years, though. Hopefully we reverse that trend soon.
