What realistic hire would really excite you

Once Bama loses to UGA this weekend and misses the playoff, Tide fans will run Saban off and right into the loving arms of Ma Tech.

Which raises the question - could you live with a UGA Natty if it meant Saban as GT coach?
Saban will like beating UGAg and Clemson so much that after winning the National Championship this season, he will resign from Bama and coach GT just so he can beat the mutts and tiggers every year.

I would love hiring Jeff Monken. Because nothing makes me happier than proving ööööing morons wrong. ööööing morons are the people who think we can’t be successful running the triple option here as a thing GT does. Monken is exactly the type of coach people have been hoping CPJ would be just he also coaches the triple option. In 2008-2009 it is my understanding the players adored him. His departure was felt immediately in the 2010 season. The locker room was PJ’s and he’s just not that likable.

I've been on the fence about Monken, but the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of it.

He’s my number 2.
Here’s the thing. We could get Briles for super cheap. Then we could take the remaining HC money and pay Little John to follow him around as his hype man.

If Art Briles walked into your living room with Little John saying “YEA - AH” at every break in the conversation, you’d sign with Tech. It wouldn’t even be close.

Compare the following:

Speech 1:
- Look son, I’ve watched your film and I think you’ve got something special. I’d like you to come to Georgia Tech and lead us to a national championship.

Speech 2:
- Look son, I’ve watched your film
- YEA -EAH
- And I think you’ve got something special
- ALRIGHT
- I’d like you to come to Georgia Tech
- HOTLANTA
- And lead us to a national championship
- THATS RIGHT

Monken - a good choice to continue with the option offense. If he brought Bateman as DC that would really be nice.
Leach - who wouldn't like him? Surely Atlanta is preferable to Pullman.
Venables - Dabo would not be happy.
Whisenhunt - a reasonable choice if Tech ties are important
Houston - he has done well for an extended period of time at JMU
Hatcher - my actual favorite. He would have the best relationships with Georgia high school coaches of anyone we have had since Dodd
Ross - with Ralph and George as coordinators - a better nostalgic move than the one UNCheat made by a long shot
Who I don't want - Briles (Baylor's mess was embarrassing) and Kiffin (Mrs. Kiffin might be acceptable)

Brent Key....former Tech Lineman under O'Leary, current Oline coach at Bama...former OC at UCF

Brent Key....former Tech Lineman under O'Leary, current Oline coach at Bama...former OC at UCF
Can somebody give me a reason why Brent Key wouldn't be a horrific hire? He was an absolute train wreck as an OC at UCF.

Exciting: Venabals
Realistic: Modken/Satterfield/Mike Houston (in that order but grouped because they’re all...eh...)

ARMY's Monken? He is a PJ Spread Option HC. You're not a Triple Option team & you can't recruit T-Option players.

Mrs Kiffin doesn’t come with him anymore
