What realistic hire would really excite you

No one mentioning Lance Leipold (Buffalo head coach)?

"Leipold reached 100 victories faster than any coach in National Collegiate Athletic Association history, doing so in his 106th game on October 18, 2014. This broke the previous mark of 108 games set by Gil Dobie in 1921."

Seems to have Buffalo on track at 10-2 this season after some bad initial seasons.

I was really high on Leipold when UB hired him. Guy is the definition of innovative. No idea what his recruiting is like tho.

When has this ever been about what the fans want?

If your AD doesn't pick a HC and staff that can go 5-7, 6-6 in the first year, recruit for his system & in year 2-3 show good progress then his job is on the line.

Monken or NAVY's HC coach is even better, would make the easiest transition. I don't see your AD picking either because many of the GT fans & others around the nation, do not want a true Triple Option scheme. They think it is obsolete. The NAVY HC would be the best choice - maybe you should check out the Navy's record.

At GSC/GSU we had the players to run it and a few times had a passing attack that put up 120+ yards per game. If PJs spread could run 380 on the ground and 110 yards passing, with 10 or 12 passes a game, the offense would be great. On the flip side GTs defense lost a lot of games.

Let me wave that wand a little harder:

HC: Scott Satterfield <-- Minimal offensive transitional pain while dumping the poor image of the flexbone
AHC and RC: Dell McGee <-- Neuter the dogs and immediately upgrade recruiting leaps and bounds
OC: George Godsey <-- The Friedgen coaching tree lives on and gets the "Tech man" crowd on board and bridges the gap of knowledge between now and Ross/O'Leary. Hell bring in Fridge as a consultant.
DC: Nate Woody <-- Continuity, ease of transition, did more for the defense than any of the others PJ tried[/QUOTE]
OL: Brent Key <-- Recruiting, another bridge to O'Leary
WR and ARC: Calvin Johnson <-- Recruiting wet dream

Ever think of NDSU's Head Coach and staff. They win & win & win. There defense is great and Offense is power + pass

HC Chris K. took over from Bohi. & in 3 years Chris K is 15-1, 13-2 & 14-1 leading into the FCS playoffs this year. Defense hard nosed as with the offense
