Speaking of recruiting... reports are that TStan wants someone in place by next week (Dec 12 I'm hearing) so that he can secure the early signing recruits. Wouldn't we want someone here ASAP to secure those and/or find others that we may need to fit a new scheme? A week doesn't seem like long enough time to work on that.

I agree. I think we would hear something no later than Sunday! as the OP says, Friday or Saturday is what I expect.

He's having to rebuild a program after the fallout from the sexual assault scandal, which gutted their roster. He went 1-11 last year and 6-6 this year.

Johnson went 2-10 in his first year at Navy. It's not always easy taking over dumpster fires.
Agreed - kind of interesting if true - Show interest in Collins then decide well if his boss is interested maybe we should talk to him. Just on the surface, Rhule may be the better candidate but hard to say. Rhule built Temple up, not Collins, and has worked at a p5 head coaching job. Rhule beat Penn State which I also like.

Here's an interesting scenario. What if we do indeed hire Collins, and Temple hires Tony Elliott as HC. How much do we like the decision then?

I’d rather secure a good hire long term than rush to save a mediocre class

I'm just glad to know it has been confirmed that we will interview 5 or 6 candidates. Unless a higher profile job opens up unexpectedly, we are certain to get our pick and end up with a quality coach.

Rhule is NOT coming 5o GT Baylor is private but the ballpark figure of what he makes to KQ and it's about double what CPJ made. Collins is the lead man at this point and I hope he gets the gig

good thought--there are really few guys (none?0 in this class that are going to take us to competitive vs clempsum, etc
I don’t follow recruiting all that closely I just assumed this years class is like every other years class

For what it's worth, I picked pee-cans from my Granny's front yard in "Lewisville" GA when I was little.
The first money I ever made was when I was 5 years old. I went out in our backyard on S. Central Ave in Tifton with my mom’s saucepan and picked up pee-cans. Mom took me to Adcock’s Pee-Cans and the guy weighed them and gave me 49 cents for them.

This was the original Adcock’s. Not the tourist one out at the interstate.
