The man doesn't sleep

UA has had major issues for sure BUT it is still the preferred brand with baseball players and many football players. Their clothes and gloves are preferred my most athletes. Footwear is where they have been getting killed. They have their first professional contract as they are the official provider for MLB now. Also, they are growing much more rapidly in Asia than anyone. I think UA could make a turn around; they actually had made one the last year but then at their investor meeting this past week, they scared everyone again. I personally think Adidas finishes 3rd in the US market but continues to be #1 in Europe while Nike and UA fight over Asia/Africa/etc.
I believe the average age of MLB fans is approaching 60 now. Not exactly hitting it out of the park with the fans UA wants to appeal to. Not even sure how much of a push the other two brands made to get MLB away from their homemade unis.

It will be interesting to see of UA stays the preferred brand with players for compression type gear. Their sales certainly haven't shown the robust growth of Adidas or Nike

MLB age is trending down quite a bit actually. Hispanics much prefer baseball over football and whites are headed in that direction. The death of baseball has been greatly exaggerated.

I have no idea where you get your stats

The number of people between the ages of 7 and 17 playing baseball in the U.S. decreased by 41% from 9 million in 2002 to 5.3 million in 2013.

That is a severe downward trend. Most of the young hispanics I know are more interested in Soccer than Baseball - and Adidas owns Soccer

Hispanics prefer soccer, and so do millennials.

Reggie was a better QB than TQM
This is insanity.

Theres a case to be made that Reggie would have been much better in the CPJ system. I will entertain that case.

I will also entertain the case that Reggie played with tremendous heart, and we should appreciate his service.

But TQM would have looked all-world if he was throwing to Calvin. And 80,000 UGA fans never ushered Taquan off the field by chanting his name in unison.

Bullshit. TQM missed a wide ass open Ricky Jeune, uncovered, near the endzone in last year's GT/UGAg game to throw into double coverage. He has been bouncing passes all season long he doesn't have the arm to throw. Don't give me your bullshit about how TQM would look all world throwing it to Calvin. Reggie was a ööööing baller

Your memory of Reggie's accuracy is lacking.

I recall one game where Reggie was 3 of 18 with 2 picks at halftime, throwing to CJ.

Didn't Ball's completion percentage decline each year? And that was with Calvin his last three years.

In defense of Reggie, he was not allowed to throw over the middle. Pat Nix ran no routes there. I sat through many of those games scratching my head. Maybe he was too short. Coulda tried though.

x2. Reggie beat Auburn twice. TQM couldn't even beat UT. Reggie's arm strength and mechanics >>>> TQM's.

TQM was a better runner but that's it.

No, your memory of TQM's accuracy is clouded by 1970's hard usage of 'ludes. Reggie played and beat much better teams than TQM did. Calvin played no part in the 2003 victory over Auburn.
Rofl, lay off the ludes yo. 2003 Auburn was an 8 win team. Taquan has beaten at least 3 teams that good this year, with a much worse defense helping him.

Reggie was a baller and a dwag hater. I remember thinking he was pretty good for a freshman. Trouble was he was pretty good for a freshman during his sophomore, junior and senior years too. He didn’t seem to progress a whole lot. Not sure if that was bad coaching or just skill limits.

No way. Even with time (granted it was rare) Tqm throws ducks.

What we know is that Reggie was not a good pro style QB under Gailey and Marshall was not a good option QB for Johnson. I could see Reggie possibly thriving in an option-based offense. I don't really think Marshall would thrive as a QB in any offense, at least not at this level.

I don't remember the Reggie years fondly, but the two non-Reggie years under Chan weren't any better, which leads me to believe most of it was just Chan and his staff not being good at developing QBs. Conversely, PJ has had two excellent QBs for his system here and another solid one (Tevin), so Marshall's failings stick out even more.

I really enjoyed walking out of Jordan Haire in a swarm of GT fans singing Ramblin Wreck with my Auburn buddy. Thanks to Reggie Ball. I’ll never forget that walk to the car.
