I have some more coaching news

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I am very excited but based on the posts of the last two weeks, I assume several/many will not be thrilled.

I did not do message boards for the last 7-8 years. I had no idea there were so many people who loved where GT football was. My experience away from message boards is very diffferent than this forum. So, if you don’t like the CGC hire, then you probably won’t like the staff. If you like/love the CGC hire, you will like/love the staff.

Literally every GT fan I know offline is very excited about the future and CGC.
In other words, people who have real lives instead of us message board geeks.

Well there are a lot of GT fans on this board and something like 95% in a poll liked the hire of Collins. I think it's not so much people aren't thrilled with the Collins hire, instead some of us feel like CPJ retiring is bitter-sweet. A lot of us liked CPJ and his style of football, however we hoped we could have done better than the last few years has produced.

There are also some anti-CPJ people who deliberately try to get a rise out of people, which then leads to pro-CPJ people criticizing CGC out of spite.

I've found a lot of the vocal anti-CPJ members of the board to be annoying over the years, as many of them would only post after bad losses, or if it was a win they would be the first to let everyone know that it meant nothing. That said, I find the current anti-CGC people to be more annoying than the current anti-CPJ people because this is now our coach and I believe we should get behind him, just as I believed everyone should have for CPJ when he was hired.

Something tells me that those in that group will also enjoy being miserable whenever Coach Collins isn't doing well.

I am excited about GC and will trust whoever GC hires. So was just curious if the guys he is bringing with him are noteworthy or not. But I’m all in.

This is what is wrong with the world today. You are either labeled pro-CGC, anti CPJ or pro-CPJ, anti CGC. I think most people are in the middle - respectful and appreciative of the coach leaving and optimistic of the new coach. You don't have to be one or the other. You can be both.

Certainly. I never claimed otherwise. My post was referring to those who have taken clear positions against either Johnson or Collins based on the content and tenor of their posts. I was not implying that all Tech fans fall under one of these categories.

There are some legitimate reasons to take clear positions against the former regime.

Why? He is retired and probably a HOF coach that did some awesome things at GT during his tenure. A change was needed so he did the right thing and stepped down.

I get that you don't like him and I'm sure you have valid reasons. öööö happens and there are always players who don't like the new coach. But let's just be excited about the new coach instead of turning people against him by attacking the old coach.
