He was not offered the OC position. He WAS approached regarding a possible position coach vacancy but, as AJC said, “parlayed that perception into the leverage he needed to get a new contract.” This kind of stuff happens this time of year all the time.

Georgia ranked 18th in the nation in total offense...I seriously doubt they would be going after the mastermind of the 103rd ranked offense in the nation. Lots of deliberate misinformation this time of year spread...mostly be agents for the benefit of their clients!
Thats the official sour grapes line out of Athens.

Dude, UK won 10 games. How many players did he have with even four stars?

That doesn’t pass the smell test. Why would an SEC Coordinator move down to be a position coach at another school?

More likely this story is just the nadlickers trying to save face after whiffing on a coordinator hire.

I don't believe any of it for a second. It's pretty well known that Kirby has had input on the offense as well and offered this guy full control and $1.1M. He wouldn't offer that money to a guy to be a position coach.

Chip Towers is a sorry piece of you know what. He writes what Smart allows him to write.

Hutson Mason was on ATL sports radio this week talking about what a nightmare it is to work for Kirby Smart.

All that hype Georgia had when they hired Kirby should flame out soon enough.

I'd be curious to hear him say this. Got a link or a summary or anything?

More specifically, do you have a link where we can @ every single one of their recruiting targets? Especially that TE we are all after?

Why would uGA call a currently employed OC and offer him a position coach job? And why would they offer a position coach job without having an OC?

The most logical situation is that the probably offered RB coach / Offensive Coordinator.

Just another example of the complex mixture of skills that is needed to be an excellent head coach. It is obviously much more that x's and o's.

Pretty sure this is the same guy that said Chaney leaving has been planned since mid-season and when the UT job came up he was "allowed" to take it for more $ to "save face." :rotfl::rotfl: If it's been planned or known since mid season, wouldn't UGAg have already had a plan for next OC? Sure doesnt look like they had one.

Yep, that's me. Chaney was actually demoted this season. Instead of OC...he was in a "Co-OC" position with Coley, which didn't suit him at all. Before you try and cross examine me, I am friends with his family....actually some of our closest friends. Have absolutely zero idea what Kirby's plan was though....I'm not sure anyone does!

Even better! Glad they kept the playcaller around who led them to that öööö showing in the Sugar Bowl against UT.
