Propst out at Colquitt

We are looking at you Buford and Calhoun
Was Calhoun relocating players to be in their area? We only played them once while I was in high school and beat the piss out of them so I don't think they were doping, at least then. But we regularly had players leave our high school to go to Buford and they would go from 6-0, 220 to 6-3, 290 in the offseason between their junior and senior year.

So? Buford did this for years with no consequences.

Difference is that Boofurd has a 'higher profile' constituency of parental support, so to speak, than does Cawlquitt. I know of at least one instance of a Boofurd SA that was aided in his admission to an SECheat school by a testing coordinator taking a few shortcuts. The educator was sanctioned, and everything else was swept away. It happens folks, and PSC is a method used by the school administration to get rid of 'educators' they don't like.

Its one thing to get a bunch of teenage Al Bundys in Colquitt to juice up, but it is surprising that he could get the kids at Hoover to do that. Thats the Roswell/Alpharetta area of Birmingham.

Cuz we all know that rich kids have better sense than poor kids, amirite?

Yeah... I live right up the road from Colquitt. Doping and paying players was indeed an issue. Also, he was assisting financially to relocate players and families to their district, though that probably happens in more places than just Colquitt.

Heard the same thing from my sources
It’s been turned over to Professional Standards Commission

That's been a standard gripe for over 60 years in NW Georgia where there's a pretty substantial industrial base - one of the last bastions of the textile business in the US - around first Rossville (Peerless Mills), then the carpet mills of Rome, Dalton & the schools in Whitfield & Murray counties, and now Mohawk Industries in Calhoun, Sonoraville & Gordon County. I guess the same was true in Gainesville & Hall County with the poultry business or over in Jefferson with GT Bryans' & Jefferson Mills.

"Hire the parents & oh, by the way, their kids are jocks, the schools must be cheating."

Once the agrarian economies shifted to industrial bases, all of a sudden schools are guilty of recruiting. Funny how people migrate to where the jobs are, which, oh by the way, is how a bunch of Okies ended up in Bakersfield during the Dust Bowl/Depression days of the 1930s - that's where the jobs were.

Yeah, you touched a nerve in this old Dalton boy's body. For us it was motivation, initiative and drive to do better, get better, work harder to escape one level and elevate one's lifestyle & socio-economic status, in order words, to be successful.

From one whose family lived in NW Georgia off & on since the mid-1800s.

Way back when I was in high school you had to win your region to get in the state playoffs, historically Moultrie/Colquitt has been pretty good through the years but was unlucky enough to be in the same region as Valdosta. Since Valdosta has lost a lot of enrollment as families leave the city their program has suffered. In hiring Propst I suppose the Packers decided to win & hold their noses at the baggage he brought. I mean Moultrie was pretty good when Bud Willis was their coach & even before that. Over the years they have been one of the best football schools in South Georgia but surrounding counties have had really good teams too as Valdosta, Lowndes Cty., Thomasville ,Thomas Ctrl, Cairo, Tift, & even Bainbridge were some stiff competition to play against. I think they have the enrollment & facilities in place to continue to be a force in the future. I grew up in Tifton & from people I know in that area I have head RX painkillers mentioned too but I am sure we will find the reason soon enough.

Seems pretty meh minus the owed taxes. They must be keeping under wraps the types of painkillers and real proof other than just “was observed” and “could have been Aleve”. A trainer will get bitchy if you take a Tylenol.

This makes Milton's (also JY's and DL's) State title that much more impressive.

Clack (Milton) would not endorse/ignore, and least of all, facilitate something like this with his team.

My bro in law coaches high school football in Georgia. Word on the street is Propst was supplying PEDs and prescription pain killers to the team.
I spoke with someone close to the program, and the oxy/PED stuff is an old rumor...I am hearing there is something else going on that they don’t want our

In general, yes. Rich people are generally smarter and intelligence is genetic.

You think Colquitt or Hoover has higher SAT scores?

It does touch a nerve when you point out to the Calhoun folks that schools like Grayson, Milton, Colquitt, Lowndes....would curb stomp them. They believe playing in the öööötiest region in the state is an achievement. Football up in NW GA is pretty crappy.

It was said Vic Beasley was asked to play in Calhoun and refused to stay in Adairsville. Not sure if factual, but that was the word when he played in Adairsville. Calhoun definitely recruits players. There is no "flocking" to live in Calhoun for work. Cartersville, maybe, much nicer town

When I lived in Cobb, the rich high school kids could afford better drugs. You must have been a sheltered snowflake

State champs!!!

The rich kids I hung with in high school went to Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Chicago, and Tech. We were too smart to use drugs. A few of the guys pledged the frat kittycorner to the baseball field and they did drugs at Tech.

You think kids in East Cobb and North Fulton didn't go to those schools? You must have been the weird kid that didn't really experience what was going on with some of your classmates. Either that, or you are just a naive snowflake. I saw a lot of öööö back then.

He didn’t have an exactly clean track record whe he was hired. Heard things before he won his first game.

well, there was the whole second family thing too and all.
but if they are turning this over to Professional Standards Commission, it ain't for chewing gum in class

heard either the superintendent or principal was never a fan of his. so whoever they get to follow will probably not be from the Propst tree

Isn’t Calhoun AAA when most of the others are 6 or 7? There is a reason they have these classifications. It doesn’t mean they are bad.
