Geoff Collins is a Joke

I don’t know if 2009 would have done him in. But 2010 would have. UGa would not stand for a losing season.

Where was Muschamp in 2010? Would he have been hired? Such a missed opportunity.
Florida hired Muschamp in 2010 and his first year was 2011. He would have definitely gone to his alma mater in 2009 or 2010.

Gus Malzahn is the only one you can say out of that because he had one good year and nothing since. I’m surprised Auburn hasn’t given him the boot yet.
Dabo went from 9-5 his first year to 6-7 his second year. That doesn’t even count the partial year he coached as an interim.

Unpopular opinion: CGC was hired, and hired a staff, primarily to turn over the roster and rebrand GT as ATL instead of 3O. That and no one else was interested in the job.
Were Whisenhunt and Collins the only two that were applied or were interested. Who else was on Stansbury's list of possibles?

And to go 1st in the Atlantic in your first full year, that’s pretty good. (Almost sounds like Paul Johnson doesn’t it)

Those were the only two rumored to have interviewed, but it's unlikely we'll ever really know. I do know several others were approached and declined. My point is: we were not a desirable job because it was very likely a career limiting decision.

Did you even read the whole comment? You circled the partial year and his first full year - not his second year where he regressed.

Now you’re changing what you’re arguing about. But because you mention it, Clemson was ranked 21 to end the 2007 season. They were ranked 9th in the 2008 AP preseason poll. Dabo didn’t start with a bare cupboard at all. Also not sure what Paul Johnson even has to do with whether or not Dabo regressed or if it’s ok that CGC regressed in year two.

I’m showing that even Paul Johnson going to a TO went to the ACC Championshop TWICE in his first two years. Other than CJ Spiller and very few others, Dabo didn’t exactly have a halfway empty cupboard either.

Um... CPJ went to the orange bowl his second year but not his first year. Also, his third year he went 6-7 (regression).

Dabo did take over a successful team though. He didn’t take over a team that was unranked the previous year and went 7-6. He also didn’t take over a team that was running a completely different system.
