“I support the team we put on the field every week” while constantly throwing our OL players under the bus every week to shield criticism from the coach.

You’re delusional, dude. Projecting your hate of a coach onto others. I’m out - peace.
Our OLs that Play in Games get very valuable full scholarships at a time in this Country where Student Loan Debt is at crisis Levels.

I don't think I am being unfair at all, by asking our OLine to play, smart, physical, brutal, technically sound FB , and remember who to Block --- in exchange for zero Student Loan Debt, is that not a fair trade-off?

They aren't "in need of significant improvement" OLinemen because of the Coaching , they are in need of significant improvement because they just aren't very good Athletes, they have a low level of overall Athleticism, if you think I am wrong tell me what you see, and tell us all what the issues are with our OLine?

And they still had terrible crowds during his best years. Given the apathy around their program regardless of coach, they're simply never going to be good.
their crowds are horrid. The one game I went you got to go into that ööööty little basketball court if you had a game ticket. Only way they got to 10k that day I’m convinced.

It comes back to coaching any way you slice it. Several of these guys are players recruited by the current staff or brought in from the transfer portal. If they brought in players from the portal with low athleticism, that's a strategic failure on the staff. It's year 3 and the OL doesn't seem to have gotten any better. You can only tap dance around blaming the coaches for so long before it becomes clear you're not living in reality.

Man, y’all do realize that all this will be sorted out in due time right? Whether you like Collins or not doesn’t matter. His future no longer depends on words regarding the future like in years 1 and 2. It’s about what he produces on the field which is exactly what he said this off season. If we wins 5 games or less this year and next he’ll be gone no matter if you like him or not. If he wins 4 this year and 6 next year he’ll probably stay whether you like him or not. Personally, I like him but I don’t think he’s a good head coach. Everything Temple fans were saying we have seen. One thing I laughed at was when the Gibbs fumble went out of bounds, Collins was on a knee pointing to the exact spot where the ball went out of bounds trying to convince the ref to spot it there. I laughed because he doesn’t even know the rules. I’m taking the dub and appreciate it. Hope they keep winning, but I’m past the point of worrying about Collins or Patenaude. The team‘s performance will decide their fate in due time. I hope it’s a positive fate.

Successful Teams don't let talented OLs walk out the door at any level of FB.

CGC took a calculated risk, a flyer on those Portal OLs hoping that if he could get a different body type, that maybe 1-2 would pan out and he would "catch lightning in a bottle".

OLs with talent know their Worth, when Tunsil flipped from UGA to Olé Miss a few yrs back , the Kid likely got a deal of upwards of $500K.

Once ND, Michigan, BC, Northwestern, Stanford sift thru their pick of the OLs with strong Academics we are left to Recruit leftovers.

That's just the reality, CGC was put in a damned if I do, damned if I don't predicament, had he Recruited the normal Guys GT was getting on the OL, we'd be just as bad might as try bigger Guys with known flaws and see if we get lucky (my non expert guesses)

Maybe he knew the Rules and was trying to "Jedi mind trick the Refs" into a mistake when spotting the ball?

Instead of being anti CGC, maybe work thru all possible scenarios and see which one is most likely

That doesn't explain why plenty of pedestrian programs are able to get more push than our OL. Even Duke arguably has a better OL than we do. We can all agree that the talent there isn't where we want it to be, but if you think that the coaching staff is doing everything right and it's 100% on the players, you're delusional. There's blame to go around, and the coaches share in that.

Whoa!

I never said the Coaching Staff is doing everything right, in fact they are doing a lot wrong, we just disagree on which things they are doing wrong!

Huge difference.

Assisting referees with spots is his primary responsibility as an in-game head coach; he also plays a valuable role in assisting trainers with all injury diagnosis. Other than that, he's worthless on the sideline during games

I miss the days when our coach was the one that held a grudge and let the scoreboard show you who your daddy was at the end.
That's a lot of tough talk for a guy with a .580 winning pctg. here at GT, it might be even lower if you subtract out all the lower tier Teams we loaded up on.

Is that you Coach Johnson, is this your Alt?

Come on now. You’re way better than that. You can’t mind trick people who actually know the rules like all the refs and the Duke staff. And I’m not anti-Collins. I’m rooting for him to win every game. But I can laugh at him as well. I also laughed at all our fans who were screaming “safety”. It’s not hard to know the rules of the game. But as another posted stated, apparently TStan’s contract with him also includes the roles of ball spotter and assistant team doctor. Personally, I’d rather he spent his time working with his DB’s on 3rd and 4th down coverage but that’s just me.

Over reaction much?

What CGC did is no different than Coaches that get in the Refs Ear about PIs , or holding , or when they tell the Refs to look out for any other Penalities to get any edge they can.

You guys must really hate CGC to make a big deal about all this ticky tack stuff.

We’d have to win 17 in a row to get to .580 and we can’t even win 2 in a row nor beat a team that finishes with a winning record.
