A Crucial Three Weeks

I fully expect the UGA - GT game to resemble the UGA-Vanderbilt game.
I guess you need to make alternative plans. I expect us to score at least 3 offensive TD's against them. I just don't know if our defense can stop them. We need their QB to have a bad day.

If I were a fan of UGA or any other non GT program, I would want GT to keep Collins forever. Sort of like I wanted UGA to keep Donnan.

That is a good point but I actually want the
game to mean something. Can you imagine both teams coming into this game undefeated, I realize that’s not ever likely but still how crazy would that be.

I will be sleeping most likely. I have night shifts that weekend.

So you wanna give a pass on the other int because of a penalty? Maybe I do wish you were grading my papers at Tech.
So you're saying when I grade your paper you want me to cross out your incorrect answer for you and write the correct answer in and count you correct? Apparently you desire for Sims to have 2 picks for the game when he didn't.

Penalties are part of the game. Hitting the QB in the head is a penalty. Why would I count it? It was the correct call.

Because it's dishonest when grading individual QB performance. It would be like saying our RBs suck if every long run was called back due to a holding penalty.

You got this completely backwards. UGA is closer to being a 10-0 game than a 34-24 game.

Of course you would. This is you taking a passive aggressive shot at Collins. Why don't you just become a UGA fan so you can make your dreams come true?
Nothing passive aggressive about it. I want Collins to succeed but he is not a good football coach. Can that change? Of course. Will it? I doubt it. Time will tell.

Geez JJ, I am not talking about the call be incorrect. Read again, slower this time.

Do you think throwing a pass to the endzone with the possibility of tying the game means the game was not a blowout?

Yeah, that’s kind of the definition of “not a blowout” - being in the game until the last play.

JJ and his buddy PressManCoverage are so invested in defending the coaches and players from any and all criticism that they can’t even comprehend why even a play that gets called back like that pick did is still a useful datapoint. Sims played well but still had a couple of head-scratchers, and ignoring them doesn’t make them go away.

So any QB who has ever had a pick overturned by a penalty should have that pick counted against him? We doing the same with fumbles?

It’s like watching somebody explain quantum physics to a dog watching you try to understand this. That, or you’re just being willfully obtuse.

I am invested in our staff. I defended Chan when he was here. Johnson when he was here. Unfortunately, a lot of folks won't let go of their Johnson and get us out of being a program who recruited FCS level players. Not sure if it is just low self esteem that makes them feel better about their inadequacies in life by recruiting inadequate players or not.

We are recruiting well and attempting to pull Johnson out of the hole he put us in. Some of believe it will take time. Others, inexplicably, believe change is instantaneous or a two year plan.

We are playing programs who have been building for years. Pitt has upperclassmen and depth and a hell of a good team. We show flashes of where we could be.

Since some of you are so smart, and want wholesale firing of our staff despite marked improvement from 2019, who do you desire to take over our program who will...

1) take the job
2) attack the job with the energy our staff has
3) not consider the job a stepping stone?

Who are y'all after? Bohannon at Kennesaw State? He seems to fit some of y'all's criteria. Recruit at a low level. Run an option offense with a QB more likely to run than throw. Should we ööööcan our staff and just move Kennesaw State's staff 15 miles south?

We ain't scoring 3 touchdowns against that team. I'm going to guess the final score is something like 10-24, mouthbreathers.

No. It is selective stats to say "well, really he threw 2 picks if it weren't for a penalty"

Exactly how I see it. Of we can somehow block that damn DT who decided to forego NFL top 10 pick money to return to UGAg to "finish the drill" then we have a chance. UGAs DL is scary good.

On a related note, IMO, Kirby should have basically forced that DT to go pro after last season. A player costs himself millions of dollars and risks injury to make millions of dollars for coach Great Clips? IMO, Kirbs likely selfishly encouraged the DY to stay to win a championship. That DT could be earning a huge paycheck right now after a huge signing bonus. Stupidity at its best. Even if he doesn't get injured and is drafted this season, he has still left millions on the table by not going pro a season sooner.

If I were a head coach and had a bona fide top 10 pick on the team, my advice would be to go now. It would have been great to have Calvin Johnson for another season, but how does that help him? 1st rounders, especially top 10 picks, are idiots if they choose to stay in school.
