Brian Kelly to LSU [Mod Note: Happy 20th Anniversary Notre Dame scumbags]

The young men who play football for Notre Dame are getting horrible treatment in this situation. They have a decent chance to play for a national title and their coach leaves. Fickell could easily do the same to Cincinnati. Early signing in football should be in early August. Late signing should be late February. No schools should announce who their new head coach will be until the day after the national championship is played. If a head coach resigns or is fired after that day, early commitments to that school should be released from their commitment if they choose and sign in February. This is ridiculous.

Is the difference between a $15MM/yr lifestyle and a $7MM/yr lifestyle really worth everyone thinking you're an asshole? It seems like there's got to be more to this. But maybe I underestimate some people's greed and egotism.

How do you think that could be enforced? The school doesn't have to make a formal announcement. Anyone privy could leak it. Same effect. Look at what happened with Kelly. Looks like he was sandbagged and word got out from someone in the know before he could even tell his own players.

I would LMAO if ND got into the playoffs, and Fickell left Cinci next week for ND, and then coached ND in the playoffs. That would be absolutely PERFECT.

I don't think Fickell will take a job while his team is still alive for a title. Most coaches don't do that. I know it happened with Michigan basketball over 30 years ago, but I'm having a hard time thinking of a more recent example of a head coach doing this.

If you could double your salary for doing the same exact thing would you double it?

Uh, Brian Kelly, yesterday. ND is/was still alive for a title.

The majority of the P5 has been left behind. Economics is dictating that college football turn into an NFL clone. It's really, really feeling like we're watching the death of the sport in slow motion.

Totally agree, or at least how we used to know it (and enjoy it).
The new "pro" football league, kinda like the AFL. Bloodsport.
Will be really interesting to see the meltdown in CFB (and CBB) when the Great Reset is in full effect.

I hate ND, but I never in a million years would have thought that anyone would consider LSU a better job than ND. My mind is truly blown.

How long before Urban Meyer resigns from the Jags?

The SEC and Big10 are all that matter today. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Does a married man fingerbanging a randoslot in a bar score higher or lower than pencil whipping a resume?
