It has been this way for a long time, if you gave College Players a choice --- a CFP Championship Ring + a Conference Championship Ring, or getting drafted in the bottom half of the 1st Round (picks 17 to 32), almost 100% will choose getting drafted in the bottom half of the first round and the Money that goes along with it.

Championships are for fans and bragging rights, players and coaches are involved for financial security, and if it comes down to their financial security or a championship for the Fans they will always choose their financial security.

That does not ring true or at least players are making poor decisions. Many say they are picking Bama, UGA, etc because they do want to be in the playoffs. The playoffs are a draw for them even though that means you will have to play more games and be expected to sacrifice more to win games.

Take Gibbs: he is more than on track to get drafted and 1st versus 3rd round is all dependent on his combine showing. Going to Bama will make zero difference to the NFL. Only fans think it is important.

Actually, the ACC needs to take the kill shot right now. Kick ND while they are down and stunned, tell them to either join the conference or get out completely. SEC doesn't want them, B1G doesn't need them; if they don't want to join the ACC outright banish them to the Independent waste land, Big 12 or PAC 10. Getting them to join should open the door to renegotiate our TV contract deal, which is the only reason the ACC needs them.
 
I’ve been saying this for a long time. Notre Dame will not win another national championship within the lifetimes of anyone on this message board, if ever. Times have changed. Brian Kelly is 100 times more likely to win a national championship at LSU.

One of the funniest posts I've seen in a long time, of course unless you knew DeClan. Kelly's comments after the event should have come with a lifetime ban on being around anyone that he is responsible for - player/student/family member et al..
