Lots of question marks. On paper he looks good. His highlight film looks good. He can run. I don't know how much Texas A&M utilized that. We still don't really know what kind of offense we will be running under CBF though his Arkansas State offense ran what looked like an RPO style. I suspect that is what will be the base offense. He definitely has talent and the famously complicated Jimbo O may just have been too much too early for him. He also had a leg injury in 2021 that put him out for the season. Has he fully recovered? Is he injury prone?

When it comes to QB transfers, I'm always hesitant to get too excited. We've been burned before. But it's a good pickup in an area of need with a kid that has demonstrated a lot of talent.

Love getting talented kids competing for PT. It only builds a stronger program. That being said, we really need that to happen on the OL because without controlling the LOS these kids will have too much pressure to make big plays for us. Come on Geep and Brent work some magic in the transfer portal or on the recruiting trail. I know ya'll are working hard to make this happen but would like to see some results.

Hopefully, he comes in with a fresh outlook and hits the ground running. He could be a good one. Even if he pushes Pyron to be even better, it helps.

He looks FAST in his HS highlights. I was shocked when I pulled up his stats at A&M and saw that he has barely even run the ball in college. Seems like a huge waste.

I think aTm fans wouldn't be shocked. They have their own clown show coach.

Glad to get another QB in the fold. Competition is indeed king. The players who play the best are the ones who practice against the best. As far as OL is concerned, I'm more interested in development than transfers. IMHO, in regard to OL, transfers are only a quick fix that retards OL development long-term. A great college OL is developed over years as players come in, grow in size, strength and technique, and learn to play with each other as units. There is no shortcut to OL development, IMO.

Glad to get a 3rd QB in the house, though.

Just my $.02 worth.

Competition is king. Maybe we should explore some kind of free-for-all player listing vs a traditional depth chart so that everyone can think they have a shot to play
We need more outside the box thinking like this and somebody who can really change the culture! Everything is about a culture of positivity and being elite! Maybe some pre-game weightlifting on the sidelines too! How you do something like heroically picking up the locker room is how you do everything! Something, something, elite, uh... compete... waffle house!

King won starting job at A&M but was benched in two games. They tried tried three quarterbacks all were bad or there offense was the problem.King was redshirt his 1st year and broke his leg in 2021 .He is basically a freshman rated a lot higher than Sims King is a very. athletic qb on film.

Just watched some highlights and I don’t hate what I saw. He’s got a good arm and good pocket awareness. The only nitpick is his throwing motion seems a bit slow n low. Kinda like Tebow.

That can be shored up though. I’m excited for the potential.

Towards the end of the season I believe all of our starting OL and most of the second team were some version of Freshman or Sophomore and they were playing at higher level. The clown had a hand in screwing up every area of the football program. In 8 games, CBK started to show progress in multiple areas, including the OL. Add in the new coaches and transfers, and things are looking up at least on paper.

Haynes king will have three years of eligibility remaining. King says nothing was promised other than an open competition with the two Zachs once he gets on campus at Tech.

If anything, it looks like he’ll be a decent replacement for Taisun as a change of pace QB. He has some serious wheels that the Aggies never took advantage of.

"My favorite part was seeing the campus and how it is connected to the city as well. They have a lot of good ideas, especially with internships and stuff like that with the education part, but the thing that kind of set me on them being a big part of this recruitment is the way they are going to develop me with football, lifting weight and nutrition. It is a very good setup with the system they are running now," King said.

I was surprised that he was impressed with our development process and facilities. I thought that was why we had to go forward with replacing all of our facilities.
