Did they ever even get the money to pay Deion and staff fully? I hear they need cash now

Apparently, they are expecting to sell-out every home game this season. That should cover it.

Where is Colorado getting the dollars for NIL deals in addition to the money they are spending on coaches?
Barstool sports is all-in on Dieon. Pretty sure it was rumored they did the NIL for the #1 CB last year to JSU.

Also hearing rumblings the UF QB recruit may be heading to Colorado.

Bit dubious of such a school having that many fans with tons of money that just suddenly want to pour it in. Live within a days drive of there and been in the area a couple of times. Never seen a single person wearing CU merch. öööö tons of Bronco's stuff though.

I'm sure their fans are around, but doubt it's some sleeping giant of money there.

So the "we can't pay our coach and staff just yet" and "we will raise the price of the Nebraska tickets high enough where they pay Deion's salary" were just false talking points?

Their fans got tired of losing and started pouring money into the program
Let me circle back to this cause I think I derailed myself in the line of thought on my last post.

For now let's say that the money is in fact coming from CU alumni or local businesses for NIL (which I am still doubtful of but we can put that aside for now). The part I would challenge here is the sequence of events. Your statement implies that current fans "got tired of losing" and threw a bunch of money at the program to win; thus, they hired Sanders with that money.

To me it's more likely that they may of had alumni who donated little or nothing due to not caring or not having faith or w/e before, but they were willing to pony up for a famous name like Sanders. So CU hires Sanders, the AD openly says they don't have the money "yet" (https://www.si.com/college/2022/12/05/colorado-ad-deion-sanders-contract-money), but since the school delivered on hiring the famous name the money started coming in.

Lol they had the money
This I don't buy one bit. Why in the hell would the AD knowingly lie to make the statement in that link? Wouldn't it of been a stronger position, a better look to say "we received strong support from the fans to sign this contract" or "we are flush with cash"? Sure, money was may of been promised so they figure it will get covered, but again I'd circle back to if the money was from "fans tired of losing", why was it only promised and not already delivered? Perhaps because that money was promised for Sanders and not just any coach?

You don’t have to buy it. They got the money necessary to acquire some of the best coaches & recruiters thru means I’m sure GT use as well.

CU believed just like many GT folks did that Sanders would be great ROI, so they held their noses and creative collective so can be competitive immediately

Let's watch and see if the investment and NIL deals continue without coach Prime at JSU, because that's a good indicator of what Colorado can expect in 2 years.

If you're right, then Boulder will still be a winning place after Prime is at Auburn.

All assuming he actually wins there, which is far from certain.
