Wanted: Jalen Carter

I’m hoping more Art Briles where it’s so toxic he can’t be touched. It’s time uga gets nuked
If Carter rolls on the fixer and the fixer says he was just doing what Smart told him to do it could lead to big problems for the Mutts.

I honestly believe that is what happened. I so wish it would come out that UGA's fixer instructed Carter to flee the scene of an accident.
Where the body cam of the conversations with Jalen and his reps?

Stop, I can only get so erect. But I think we all know that nothing will come of it. This dude will pay a ticket, get drafted, destroy the Falcons in the NFL, and business as usual will continue at U[sic]GA.

This is the first in a series of pretty bad takes, IMO. Driving 100+ mph with a BAC over twice the legal limit isn’t something you shrug off as a “bad decision” made by a kid. It’s criminal for a reason, and endangers the lives of innocent people.

Also, it’s obvious that Carter repeatedly lied to police because he knows he’s complicit in some way, and he’s lucky that he didn’t get BAC tested. The implication is that UGA contributed to a coverup, which would absolutely make them guilty as well.
Carter should be charged with obstruction of justice

When I was 17 I got caught doing like 86 in a 55 in Georgia, and they took me to jail. Had to go to court and pay a lawyer a good chunk of change to get the charge reduced so I could keep my license. It ended up being a fine (like several times a normal ticket) and maybe even some community service hours, can't remember. Parents were not happy. Too bad I didn't play for UGA!

In my moral defense it was a secluded road where it was pretty safe honestly, and no alcohol...
Obviously not ‘secluded’ enough. The popo were a waiting’.

My questions...

Why was he not charged with giving false information to the police?

The reports are that they knew he was there because there were scrapes on his vehicle from the power lines that came down in the accident. Doesn't that mean he was involved in the accident, since his car was damaged? Why wasn't he charged with leaving the scene?

How could you leave when you have friends in that car, instead of trying to do something to help them?
They we’re no longer friends at that point in time, they were liabilities.

I don’t know what happened in this case, however being in a conference with a program like that seems to be a pretty high priority around here.

Here's a case from Gainesville just this spring where someone died b/c of street racing and they charged one of the perps with murder. Too bad this guy wasn't a football player for UGA, he wouldn't have to go to prison if so:

faces a total of 32 charges, including felony murder and homicide by vehicle

Somebody needs to bring this case to public light when he gets a slap on the wrist.

Didn’t realize this. 9 players arrested since the beginning of last year.

My question is how many should have been arrested but got off because they play football? It won't happen but I'd really like to see a honest investigation into the Athens pd and how many"warnings" have been giving to football players.

That is actually EXCELLENT advice for anyone. If Alex Murdaugh had followed it, particularly points 1 and 4, he might not be under two life sentences today. I've advised family and friends repeatedly for decades to NEVER talk to the police under any circumstances. It will never help you - especially if you're innocent. Murdaugh had to know this, but he was just so arrogant he thought that rule didn't apply to him.

Allegedly Carter didn't follow these important words of wisdom either, as I'm reading reports claiming that he initially lied to the po-po. Lying to the po-po is a huge no-no. Enough to send you to jail all by itself.

The more I stew over this...it's really a travesty and angers me. We know that the UGAY machine doesn't care as long as it accumulates wins but this isn't a recruiting violation or even stealing something. Last year a Racetrack cashier was shot and killed in Watkinsville near Athens. They finally tracked the guy down and it was a UGAY player. He had quit the team and fled back Philly. This is the 2nd occurence a UGAY player(s) has been involved in death. Truth that NO ONE cares as long as you bring championships.

You can't remember if you did community service? Was this your only scrape with the law? Because I've never even been arrested, but I think I would remember if I ever did community service under a court order.

At the end of the Knox news article, it notes that UGA just posted a job for a Director of player development - Bryant Gantt’s position. Does anyone know his whereabouts? Guessing down in South America with a large sum of money so no one can ever put him under oath.
