Wanted: Jalen Carter

This is the first in a series of pretty bad takes, IMO. Driving 100+ mph with a BAC over twice the legal limit isn’t something you shrug off as a “bad decision” made by a kid. It’s criminal for a reason, and endangers the lives of innocent people.

Also, it’s obvious that Carter repeatedly lied to police because he knows he’s complicit in some way, and he’s lucky that he didn’t get BAC tested. The implication is that UGA contributed to a coverup, which would absolutely make them guilty as well.
I didn’t do this öööö. Especially not at 24

IMO the biggest scandal here is the Athens PD letting Jalen off on 89 in a 45 with a warning months ago. Quoth the offer: “Your break is you’re not going to jail. Because that would make all kinds of news, right?”

Good-cop fail. He made all kinds of news anyway and people are dead. That's what reckless sociopaths who park in handicap spots and drive 89 in a 45 do.

Jalen Carter has killed more people than Alec Baldwin. Any team that drafts him has blood on their hands.

Clarification- Any team that drafts him has blood on their hands and should expect him to do prison time like the rest of us would for the same offense.
you mean that if I drove blackout drunk at 110 MPH and killed 2 of my coworkers, I'd be out of a job???

When I was 17 I got caught doing like 86 in a 55 in Georgia, and they took me to jail. Had to go to court and pay a lawyer a good chunk of change to get the charge reduced so I could keep my license. It ended up being a fine (like several times a normal ticket) and maybe even some community service hours, can't remember. Parents were not happy. Too bad I didn't play for UGA!

In my moral defense it was a secluded road where it was pretty safe honestly, and no alcohol...

See, your mistake was not doubling the speed limit. At that speed the cops are so impressed they reduce your charges.

My questions...

Why was he not charged with giving false information to the police?

The reports are that they knew he was there because there were scrapes on his vehicle from the power lines that came down in the accident. Doesn't that mean he was involved in the accident, since his car was damaged? Why wasn't he charged with leaving the scene?

How could you leave when you have friends in that car, instead of trying to do something to help them?

He left because he was interested in helping himself instead of helping his friends. I guess the Mutts all for the team concept didn’t resonate with him. I also wonder if some official like the police or the fixer suggested to him to go home.

Going 57 in a 45 is a break. Going 87 in a 45 is psychopathic.

Reckless driving should be treated as seriously as reckless shooting. Driving 104 MPH in a residential area is no different than unloading a machine gun into a residential neighborhood. öööö the NFL and öööö the people who watch the NFL
Was going to post this exact thing. Flying metal can kill people no matter how it's propelled.

Here's another thing folks are conveniently skipping over... one of the following has to be true:

A) He fled because he was also drunk (which is most likely scenario).

-or-

B) He was sober and willingly and knowingly raced this girl that was well over double the legal limit to drive (so no way he didn't know she was drunk), all at very high rates of speed through traffic and residential neighborhoods. And then fled the scene, sober, while his friends were dying.

It still wouldn't be acceptable, but this is way worse than if they were just out on some flat, long, straight, deserted country backroad having a drag race.

I wonder if Carter called the fixer and he told him to flee.

The cop issuing him the citation earlier in the year says he had similar conversations with other players that same day. Is Georgia the fast and the furious with a football team attached?

I honestly believe that is what happened. I so wish it would come out that UGA's fixer instructed Carter to flee the scene of an accident.
