Godspeed Bama, FSU,Texas and Michigan

One thing we know for sure now: making the playoff doesn’t come down to how you performed or what happened during the season. It’s entirely based on how well the committee believes you will do in the playoff game.

Why was FSU in the top 4 the last several weeks then? They didn't lose since then.

Because in the most recent week, Alabama beat the #1 team, won the SEC, had a final SoS of 5th, and their only loss was to another CFP team. I am not an Alabama fan, but I dislike Washington and Michigan more. So until GT gets in, I will cheer for any team from the SEC or ACC over overrated conferences. FSU was not going to get it done and it would have been a wasted spot.

Let’s face it. We sold our souls to the devil to make Bama good enough to win out and beat Georgia in the SECheat championship game.
We knew the SECheat champ would always make it into the 4 team playoff.

Just tired of the ACC getting ööööed in the ass without the common decency of a reach around. I have already messaged JBatt, as a long time season ticket holder, and told him I expect a strong reaction from the ACC, as a group, to expose what a fraud this decision is. The SEC acts like one sinister, self serving, serpent, while the ACC bickers and fights among ourselves like children. It is time to stop this stupid bullshit and burn down college football and ESPN.

There should be nothing but negative reactions from every single announcement across the board up to, during, and after the fraud playoffs.
That’s what the SEC wants. If the ACC pulls out of the CFP, the XII will get the boot and it’ll be an SEC-B1G only playoff.

The ACC also needs to be careful because if they make too much of a stink then FSU gets blown out by Ohio State or georgie, they’ll look like idiots.

And what matchups optimize revenue.
I hope some Representative from Florida opens an inquiry (since the NCAA is afforded government protection from monopoly status) and subpoenas records proving that ESPN manipulated the outcome.

Wonder if Saban called Key? Maybe we'll get our home and home matchup while Saban is still around

I will cheer for any team from the south.

most people in the south felt that way because of the large media bias for northern teams. See Notre Dame for their entire history. Another one was Michigan State over Georgia Tech in 1952 poll. I was always was like that and pulled for the Yankee teams to get beat.

but the SEC crowd has now soured me on any SEC school. I always pull for them to lose now against anybody.

So you for for UGA. Noted.

The following loophole is what did it.

2. PRINCIPLES
  • The selection committee will select the teams using a process that distinguishes among otherwise comparable teams by considering:
    • Conference championships won,
    • Strength of schedule,
    • Head‐to‐head competition,
    • Comparative outcomes of common opponents (without incenting margin of victory), and,
    • Other relevant factors such as unavailability of key players and coaches that may have affected a team’s performance during the season or likely will affect its postseason performance.

So because of that injury you think Bama is better than FSU? I would take FSU over Bama with their #2 QB. Bama is not very good. And they will get waxed by Michigan.

I guess people just don’t pay attention in September: NEWSFLASH THE SEC USNT GOOD THIS YEAR!!!

Clemson got punished for losing to ACC teams while SEC teams get rewarded.

Wow. Well maybe the decision was more fair based on their "principles" than I thought. I just don't agree with that principle.

Still, this is all so incredibly subjective. If you shut the best team you've faced down so that they only score 6 points, how is it that your former QB was a "key player"?

Without Jordan Travis, yes, I think Bama is better than FSU. IF Bama was playing the ND transfer vs FSU’s backup, I‘d take FSU.

I hope Michigan beats the hell out of Bama too. The 1 liners from Harbaugh will never end if that happens.

I really don’t know. I think that FSU D is something Bama hasn’t seen in a while. UGA’S D is decent but we proved it to be built on a house of lies and SEC hype. I think the #2 QB and O line would do enough to push them around. See: Texas game.

100% agreed. And starting in 2024 this won’t matter. The argument next year will be why the #12 team will be replaced with the highest ranked P5 champion. But at some point the arguing has to end.

It’s like the NCAA Tournament expanding from 64 to 68 and in the near future isn’t it going even higher?

Not only is the one you highlighte a bogus principle, so is the first one. Conference championships won??? What does the number of championships won IN THE PAST have to do with the current year. If it simply said "Conference championship (no plural) won", then yes, but plural? Why the hell is that a principle?
