Super League

I would love this but it’ll never happen. The B1G and SEC have consolidated and have what they want.

It also doesn’t make much sense to me to setup a promotion/relegation system if 70 teams are immune to relegation. It makes sense for the CST to try and get its foot through the door to persuade the P5 schools that they won’t get relegated, but after putting it in practice it would be nonsensical. A 0-win P5 team staying promoted while a 2-win G5 team getting relegated doesn’t work.
Reality is, just be 1 of the 70 who cannot be relegated. Simple as that. That will finally end all the panic on this board about the crappy ACC going the way of the P12 and what will happen to GT when the ACC finally folds.

Go watch the 30 for 30.
I don't recall him saying he didn't have a Bama offer. If he didn't, Alabama was run by retards because he was the best HS athlete in the country his senior year in football, track, and probably baseball.

Were you alive then or not and just making up more of your stupid bullshit? You can easily say "I was wrong" and back down and stop looking like a dumbass.

You can say that, but you'd be wrong. There would be a slew of QB's evaluated and taken to develop. The whole "grown men" thing is bullshit. At the very least, you'd have a lot of one and dones, similar to college basketball.
outside the physicality argument, if NIL stays a thing, you could see top NFL prospects opting to stay in college ball. aren't some of the top NIL deals worth more than rookie nfl contracts at this point. don't underestimate the fanatical nature of fans of the factories.

No way. 18 year isn’t physically ready and would get crushed out there. The NFL team doesn’t have time to draft a HS kid and try develop him on the practice squad for a few years. No need for them to do so when colleges do it for them.

Not a valid comparison with the NBA (contact sport) versus a collision sport like the NFL.
doesn't european soccer start recruiting their players when they're like 10yrs old.

Yes. The kid will sign a contract and “grow up” in their academy, go to school, and be professionally coached.

Of course, it’s also similar to basketball where an exceptional talent can play pro as a teenager. The physical difference between 18-22 years old isn’t the same as HS to the NFL (of course).

18 year olds can absolutely be drafted out of high school. You draft based on acquiring the rights to a player, but that does not mean that player is expected to play right away.

I'm of the opinion now that all the power will eventually shift to the players. Look for a future lawsuit against CFB and the NFL over restraint of trade. There is absolutely no reason for the NFL to disallow an 18 year old from being drafted into the league. Personally, I'd enjoy watching all of CFB being relegated as all of the best players would likely be one and dones on the college level.

That is probably the future scenario for the nfl. Eliminate the 3 year out of hs rule. Teams will draft a bit of potential. NFL has to build a developmental league like the nba did.

And you rob TV revenue from the öööö show that is college football

Why couldn't the NFL just change their practice squad rules and have a special designation for guys within 3 years of high school?

Guys who flat cannot read should have a chance at the big show!

I took 5 minutes and watched it, and he was told he would have to wait 3 years to start. That‘s what was said. The rest of your nonsense is the typical 3 yo rant you provide with no substance. Even better considering it comes from a guy who thinks HS kids can go to the NFL. Yeah. You got it. lol

You said Alabama didn't offer. LITERALLY ONE COACH told him he would have to wait at Alabama. So you were absolutely wrong and I doubt you were even alive to see the recruitment of Bo Jackson and Herschel Walker. You are absolutely a ööööing moron who has no ööööing idea what you're talking about about.

And both those two players would have been the best player on the team the moment they stepped on the field in the NFL. Jackson would have ABSOLUTELY started for the Falcons over Lynn Cain or William Andrews. (I think that was our two at the time)

ROFL again. Absolutely clueless. Herschel Walker was a coin flip from going into the military.

Every single NFL scout will reiterate what has been said 600 times in this thread. No way in hell will ANY NFL team risk a pick on an unproven HS player.

But keep on living in your own little world filled with tinfoil hat theories.

And here are the facts on Bo Jackson’s recruitment.

No, Herschel Walker was not a ööööing coin flip from going to the military. He was an EXTREMELY highly regarded recruit, moron. Bill Curry has even spoken about trying to recruit Herschel for Georgia Tech saying he "mistakenly believed that he could convince the Walker family about the benefits of a Georgia Tech education" making it clear they were looking for much, much more. I remember my middle school buddy Allen, big UGAg fan, coming to school and bragging that UGAg got Herschel. He was a phenom. The closed in end zone at UGAg is known to the older fans as the "house that Hershel built"

You're a ööööing idiot. A bonafide moron. You have no ööööing idea what in the hell you are talking about. Not a damn clue. Walker would have been BY FAR the best recruit in the history of our program, if a miracle had happened, and may have turned the tide for GT football. He was that damn good in HS and EVERYONE knew it.

And, douchebag, you said Alabama DID NOT OFFER Bo Jackson.

Wow. What a riveting story. Will not read again.

“Walker then flipped a coin. The military was on one side. College and football hung in the balance on the other end.

“It [the flip] came for me to go to college and I go ‘Crap’ and then I went to the University of Georgia because I was upset that God didn’t let me do what I wanted to do,” Walker said. “I flipped a coin between Clemson University and Georgia. Georgia ended up winning the coin toss.”

Please go on about how great an 18 yo straight out of HS would be in the NFL. Damn, not sure why the Manning’s didn’t just tell that to Arc before going to Texas. I mean, he’s the next Manning “phenom” who is going to break every single one of Brady’s records, unless Maholmes does 1st. Oh wait…..So 2 of the GOAT QB’s of all time weren’t 5* can’t miss prospects out of HS? How can that be?

There is a reason why the NFL isn’t stupid like the NBA and has the following rule. It’s because while the average NFL career is short, they also know players are not physically or mentally ready going from the HS game to the NFL. The uptick in speed and overall skill already overwhelms rookies as it is now just going from P5 to the NFL.

PLAYER ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for the draft, players must have been out of high school for at least three years and must have used up their college eligibility before the start of the next college football season. Underclassmen and players who have graduated before using all their college eligibility may request the league’s approval to enter the draft early.

If this were true then they wouldn't have had to put any rules in to prevent it from happening. They just don't want to have to make those decisions, so now an anti-trust exempt organization is age discriminating against 18-21 year olds.

You can be a marine, but you can't play football against a 21 year old.....

And the story about flipping a coin is a damn lie from a batshit bipolar Walker. He NEVER flipped a damn coin to decide. He got straight up cash and a Trans Am. EVERYBODY knew it at the time. It was the peak of UGAg late 70's / early 80's cheating culminating with the Jan Kemp scandal, although they did have Jim Harrick attempt the big cheat for their basketball program.

Herschel Walker left HS with Olympic speed weighing 225 pounds. He would have started day 1 for the Falcons, as would have Bo Jackson, at 18 years old.

College needs to stop trying to compete with NFL. This is a bad idea. Its only a matter of time until NFL starts playing on Saturdays.
I think that as college football becomes close and closer in likeness to the NFL, that the NFL will declare war.
