Vad is gone! Transferring

If this decision had been made at any point before our last game and CPJ knew about it then he is a dumbass for continuing to start him. Justin Thomas should have been given the reigns as soon as Vad made his decision.

We're not going to release him to another ACC school.

Besides, I don't think he beats out Anthony Boone over there.

Best news possible for Tech fans. Vad was never going to succeed with this coach, and since the coach ain't leaving, the next best thing is for Lee to quit.

i honestly think Vad would be a decent QB in something like Auburns offense.

You all can defend him as much as you want. You were probably the same people that said Vad was the second coming of Jesus for YEARS - going so far as to trash Washington, when it turns out..... Washington was better!

Yes, I don't know the whole story, maybe he has some family issues I don't know about. If that is the case I will issue a public apology. However, this reeks of a selfish decision because things got to hard.

Vad could be a decent college QB with the right system to fit his talents. He can throw the ball --but that ability was diminished running the TO with a less than adequate OL and average at best WR's.

I hate to see the kid leave after his SO season, but it's his decision --and given the circumstances (at least from a football perspective --who knows if there are other intangibles here) I understand that decision. Best to #2 wherever he decides to transfer (it won't be another ACC school).

Hypothetical question. If we had recruited Johnny Football, would he still be here running the option?

He did the school a favor and it is best for him, don't see the need to be snarky about it. I just didn't think he was going to get that much better and it seems like our last few QBs have hung on all the way thru their senior year when you could see they weren't going to be any better. I'd like this to happen every time we start a soph and he doesn't improve that much over the year. He just never got smooth reading the option, needs to try something else before his time runs out and we need to try somebody else instead of staying with that 2 more years. It forces our hand to try something else, would have been hard with him here.

Kelly Quinlan reported a "rumor" after the Clemson game (i think) that Vad Lee may be looking at transferring.

At the time I said the same thing you just did. I said if this is even remotely true and PJ plays him in particularly against UGA when a kid has one foot out the door, then he should be fired for incompetence.

the rumor was squashed almost immediately as it was reported. Then Vad went on a tear and played like a baller against UGA. I got no regrets.

Ultimately this is best for both parties.
