öööö you Paul Johnson

People said the same thing when they wanted him fired at the end of 2013. öööö, I think it was even worse then. And look at what happened the next season.

I will ask again: what is CPJ building at GT and what is the evidence he is getting there?

The CPJ O also decreases the size of our already limited recruiting pool because of kids, both on O and D, not wanting to play in it.
I'm not so sure it decreases the size, but it changes the type of player we go after. And it does probably limit our ability to attract elite offensive players.

he's in sustainment mode. there's no more building. the program is what it is.

he'll keep up his average ~7.5 wins just like Gailey. Johnson just has a higher stddev, so there will occasionally be some 2014s and 2015s.

First off I'll say I believe last year was a fluke. We had a million injuries and I don't think it would have gone that way otherwise or will again.

I think he's built a program that is consistently competitive with occasional conference title runs. Recruiting is noticeably better this year and has been better overall since the low point a few years back that is hurting us now. I'll admit I'm less confident than I have been, but I do feel pretty confident that we are significantly more likely to be worse with a new coach than we are to be better.

Points don't tell the whole story. In fact, they do a very poor job of it. We scored on 6 of our 9 possessions. That's 67%. In contrast, Clemson slaughtered BC 56-10, but only scored on 58% of their possessions.

Our style of play limits the number of possessions we have, so efficiency numbers are much more telling. Our offense was actually pretty good for most of the game today, and our defense was pretty bad.

Points tell the most important part of the story.

We didn't score enough of 'em while giving up too many of 'em.

And fewer and fewer kids playing in anything like it in HS. Bigger learning curve for 'em here under CPJ's O. Just another negative.

Both 2014 and 2015 were outlier flukes. 2010-2013 is more the norm. We'll likely be close to the win totals of those seasons when this year is done. You can look at CPJ's entire GT record at this point - it's almost identical to our prior coach, who I want no part of btw.

Even in 2014, we managed to lose to both Duke and UNC and got a lucky escape against GaS.

I give up, man. Go on insisting that the offense sucks when we score on 2/3 of our possessions and only get stopped 3 times. Meanwhile, 90% of the country would kill to have that type of scoring rate. If you really want to argue this, find me a few teams that scored on 2/3 of their possessions today against a decent opponent. Until then, I'm done. Oh, and I'll save you some time: Washington dropped 70 on Oregon today and still punted 5 times, scoring on 63% of their possessions.

I disagree. 2010 Nesbitt broke his arm. 2013 Vad Lee was running the offense (lots of pistol instead of traditional 3O). So, I wouldn't pick those 4 years as the norm.

Johnson has no direction for the program. There are no realistic goals in the future. He is simply coasting, and there is no long or short game.

What coach anywhere is building anything without the support of his AD? Not saying I know whether CPJ actually has a plan, but it's difficult to put this as a mark against him when the guy holding the checkbook was a mythical creature for the last three years, and the guy before him got an ACC championship taken away and had to rake in 5 million a year in out of pocket student fees just to close the budget gap from the epic mismanagement of of a guy who quit 10 years ago that we are still paying for.

We can't start building anything until we dig out.

Strange that...against the nation's 126th-ranked pass defense, our OC draws up 10 pass plays for the entire game.

Still, not sure which part of "both sides lost the game for us" you continue to refuse to read.

The records those years speak otherwise. And Nesbitt was injured late in the season. Prior to his injury, we'd already lost to Kansas, NC State, and a 6-7 Clemson team.

Where is the evidence that our last AD was against Johnson?

Where has Johnson said he wants to achieve something at GT?

Everyone close to the program has stated that bobinski did not support Johnson at all. This has been corroborated by several people

I've been asking myself this the last few days too. It's supposedly the run game. That is our identity. But a lack of development on the offensive line has neutralized any identity their. Johnsons initial problem was that he recruited small lineman but changed to bigger lineman once he realized that you can't compete on this level with Navy sized lineman. To his credit he switched with OK but not spectacular results. Then in 2014 it seemed that we went away from dive blocking and started seeing impressive results. For some reason we have gone back to dive blocking. Our run game has suffered.

Defense has never been our identity. Roof, to his credit, has gotten decent results from a unit that has not been the focus of the head coach. But we will never have a dominant defense under Johnson. It simply is not his identity. You knuckleheads that expect us to have even a better than average defense will never see it. We don't recruit for it and it is not the focus of the head coach.

Dude wtf argument are you even making? how can you argue for or against what any coach is "building" and whether they have a plan or not? You figured it out, CPJ doesn't want to accomplish anything else and is waiting to be fired. thanks

he wanted to fire his ass in 2014 before his hand was forced

Got proof?

Still waiting for the Johnson lovers to tell me where he plans to take our program. All I hear is complaints - no future goals and no plans to get there.

Got any evidence Johnson is doing anything besides not wanting to accomplish anything?
