“Big Announcement in the Near Future”

I’ve been told time and time again that there is no way any GT money can be used for athletics. Whenever I brought it up and posted where there is a Will there is a way I’ve been mocked and told I don’t understand the system. I guess Cabrera doesn’t understand that either. GT has never been broke and has billions so all the whining about poor little GT that our own fans have bought into is just nuts. We are one of the richest schools in the southeast. It sounds like our President is ready to use GT mOney to improve GT’s reputation.
You are still getting them confused. The way I understand it, we cant move money that's currently in the endowment over to athletics because it is already earmarked for other things, but the school can make sure future contributions or larger parts thereof can be earmarked to go to athletics.

No it may create more of a Torus like shape. More research must be done. Here is a sophisticated rendering of Kyle field expanded in length not too long ago:

Looks like it would eventually evolve into a Dyson sphere. Fans roaming around on the inside surface and such.

I’m not getting anything confused. I live in the real world. Anything can be done if the people in charge have the will to do it. Laws, by laws, contracts, anything can be changed. Sure, there is a process but it can be done. And it can get done quickly if the right people are willing to push it thru. Remember how fast the BOR pushed thru the enginneering program at UGA? Even though it shouldn’t have happened? It’s because once they had the numbers they simply changed the rules. It sounds like we finally have a President who is tired of googling GT and the first 5 pages are all negative. As he said, there is no reason our sports teams can’t be successful as well as the academic side. And it sounds like he knows where to get the money from.

You can run a successful construction company even if you aren’t the best roofer in the area…different competencies.

You can run a successful roofing company by getting clients to file bogus claims against sketchy hail damage.

Iowa, Wisconsin. Minnesota, Illinois, Purdue …. Wow! I can see the tickets selling like hotcakes. I don’t see any difference between these games and UVA last Thursday night. We better get on our knees and beg the SEC.
Don’t forget Rutgers!!

Your crazy if you think those schools wouldn’t draw better than Miami, Virginia, Duke this year; who will combine to bring 5K fans.

I’m hearing it has nothing to do with stadium, but it’s about raising money for scholarships. What anyone gives somehow will be matched. I don’t know how, but you give $1,000 they will match it. Just a rumor I’ve heard fwiw

Using that logic. You can be a successful surgeon, despite the success rate being below the better doctors. Different competencies. No thanks...

I personally don't like soccer, and I doubt I would ever go to a match, no matter who was playing, but there are lot of non-nerd people who love soccer.
I'm not sure soccer, at GT, will have an immediate following. While I do like going to Atlanta United matches, not sure you would get the same excitement at a GT game. However; as with any other sport. Winning draws in fans. Losing causes attrition. I guess I would give it a try.. at least once.

For starters, the Big Ten is not going to get raided. If you think that Florida State and Clemson are going to still be in the ACC in 5 years and the ACC will be a part of the new major coalition of college football I’ve got a Prius that does 0-60 in 4.2 secs I’ll sell you for $80k.

It looks like you’ve missed my point. If you want to use a surgeon as an analogy, it’s possible to run a successful hospital even if you weren’t the top surgeon on staff. Different competencies.
