1-1 with Todd Stansbury. What should I ask him?

Another suggestion I have mentioned here is train a group of us alumni to break down opponent film to help the coaches.

How about a program that compiles all the cut blocks used in televised games isolates them and compiles a list of actual lower body injuries caused by cut blocks and how long each affected player missed because of that injury.

Then you take the printed results and shove them up the backsides of Stoops and Beamer.

In keeping with the Gatorade request...I see other teams using oxygen on the sidelines, but not us. We should have a few BME students looking into ways to assist in recovery between game drives. Shouldn't be that hard to come up with a way to maintain energy levels; oxygen, individually formulated sports drinks (soylent was started by a gt alum, maybe he could assist), etc.

Zipline from top of upper north to Peter's parking deck.
This may be the idea witht the most money earning potential.

Also have a route from the top of the hill down to the stadium.

That's some painful paper cuts. Love the idea.

who needs Navy flyovers???

the Georgia Tech Drone Aerial Recreation Team wows you with fully choreographed air shows worth their LSALT
aided by 4D sound and graphics show while the GT DARTs wow you with video-game like maneuvers

brought to you by the US Navy, Amazon, and Georgia Tech

*increase the liability statement on the back of the game tickets though

I'd much rather do the laser beam popcorn popping recreation from Real Genius, or just use a big magnifying glass to do it during one of our scorching hot early season nooners.

turn some luxury suites into VIP rooms. Sounds like some of the girls from over on Spring St. might be looking for work soon. Pay for their tuition and let em earn tips the hard way. Strippers, booze, food, football ....

good idea---
plus have volunteers organize a recruiting database of top players with grades in EVERY state and continuously update it until the most likely candidates are contacted somehow from the AA.

Whoa there. Hang on. What are you talking about Spring Street ladies being out of work?

Needs a pole

Needs a pole
öööö a pole. We have been languishing in this broken facade of a democracy for too long. StingTalk is a dictatorship, clearly, so it's about time someone stepped up, stopped dicking around and got shit done. 15+ years this board has been going, and has it ever gotten anyone laid?

That's not it at all. He's also talking to staff, boosters, coaches, and folks within the administration and colleges. He's most of his way through his staff and the boosters already. Now, he's turning to the campus resources.

He's got a good plan to try and flip the recruiting narrative around by stressing the benefits of getting a solid education and post-career opportunites, while playing at the highest level. He wants to stress that our athletes can retire from their sports on their own terms, similar to Calvin and Texiera, without having to worry that they aren't prepared for a long life afterwards. He's also interested in rebranding the AA and the Edge Center into something more along the lines of a high tech headquarters or maker's space. He wants to take the best ideas that Tech is developing and find ways to incorporate them into the athletes' lives - state of the art learning, nutrition and training facilities; avenues for entrepreneurship, partnerships between athlete's and Tech owned, and managed, corporations.

He's very serious about reinstituting Dr. Rice's Total Person Program and is already making strides in that regards.

It's basically everything we've always said should be stressed to the recruits and their families.

Your last line sums it up - "everything we've always said ...". Sounds like more of the same talk heard since 1972. Talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, Tech Men, tech men, talk no walk, talk no walk .............

Sorry, very sorry, but hope it is the way some things are being said by many and not actually being done by TStan.

We better find a way to sell more tickets to fans that love college football in ATL that do not have an allegiance to another school right now. And these fans do not want to spend hard earned money on games, parking, shirts, concessions only to be exposed to, "damn we fumbled that ball away and lost the game" or " wish our D could have rushed the passer better" and then have added to those quotes " yeah, but that kid had to take a math class this week" or "yeah, but that DL will be real successful 40 years from now". Real fans are not going to games, on their $, for that crap. Or to see GT vs gsu / mercer / ksu.

So absent that commitment, people that are fans now best be prepared to start buying more tickets and giving a LOT more $ on their own now.

If not, it is just the same pissing in the wind that has been going on for the last 45 years or so. Same ole BS.

This is sounding exactly like an AD being hired to kiss the azz of HillNerds and a weak Prez. It has not worked long term before, and no reason to think so now.

Using innovation:
Have the scout team run pre-snap reads in front of 360 deg cameras - then let the two deep run iterations of pre-snap reads at night via VR and not have it count against NCAA practice hours.

Have the CS guys write a program to track opposing players routes, aggregate them, then upload the program 'smart tackling dummies' (or better, clever name) to run those plays at game speed.

Get the textile guys working on wearable strengthening gear.

Monetizing Bobby Dodd:
Talk with Pinewood Studios (or the location guys in LA) about using Bobby Dodd for football movies - plus you have access to cheap extras on campus. Only 30 minutes from the studio/close to airport.

HGF & GT football facilities have been used for credit card commercials in the 70's with Don Meredith, used in the movie "The Bear", used in the movie "The Blind Side", used, I believe, in the movie "Remember the Titans".

Remember all the great recruits that brought us? All the extra money & new ticket buyers?

If this is the way you go around IRL you are one miserable SOB.

Um, my math is likely not up to scratch for the standards hereabouts, but doesn't "the last 45 years or so" include a national championship? :sqint:

The question was "how to monetize the football stadium when its not being used in the fall".

How to use the stadium to gain recruits or season ticket holders during the offseason? Very different and challenging proposition. I know Green Bay has an offseason season ticket holder party at Lambeau. Could be interesting, but would it be a net positive? Tough call.

We hold football camps at Bobby Dodd already. Not sure how to use it to get recruits outside of what we already do.

Not sure if you understand brainstorming process, shooting down legit ideas because they do not answer a different question isn't really a part of it. Didn't catch your ideas in this thread... lots of complaining though. Great input.
