Kansas is a much crappier loss... That loss is basically the same loss as Syracuse last year. That is a loss where you look at the teams records and you say "how tf did we lose to that team?" NIU is historically a much better program, and they have a pulse this year.

I'm not arguing that the NIU game wasn't a deflating bummer... It was awful largely because it looked like we woke up and pulled the game out like we were expecting, only to completely collapse at the end. We have lost several openers in the past few years, but none of them had that singularly painful quality like this one. The NIU game reminded me of the Clemson and Maryland games from 2001, or the NC State game in 2005... A tremendous sigh of relief followed by a swift punch in the nuts.

Yeah we still should have won but at least it looks like NIU has a decent shot at being the MAC's best team. Further our starting QB was injured early in the game.

Still a bad loss, just not IMO near as bad as Kansas loss.

Kansas was a bad loss but we were not their only win in 2010
 
Cmon man. That Syracuse loss is more embarrassing than Kansas and that’s not even Collins’ worst.
 
Are y'all talking about the same Kansas that had #3 OU on the ropes Saturday? Some of you act like these types of games never happen to anybody else. In 2014 we lost to UNC and Duke for crying out loud. Nobody remembers though because we did good in all the rest.
 
Why are we comparing NIU to Kansas? We should be comparing our loss to Syracuse to Kansas. NIU is the icing on the öööö sandwich that is our program.
 
On second thought, getting beat by the citadel is worse than all of the above, followed closely by Temple, then NIU, then Syracuse, then getting shut out by Virginia Tech at home. The list keeps going from there

the worst loss in ACC history should be high on that list too.Our other Cumberland... Hard to ignore that 70 point clemson beatdown or the 45 point beating from UGA..Still as far as epic program embarrassment, i'd think Money Down must rank about 3rd or 4th.
