This is not about hating women. This is about them f'ing with 107 years of tradition for the pettiest of reasons. Get your minds rite.
I agree, although it's really easy to hate women too.

I would understand it if the song said if I had a daughter, we'd throw her on the ground, but I don't get how cheering is a big deal.
I'll just leave this here

In the end they wanted to change one word from cheer to join. About a quadrillion words have been written by 750,000 injured butts in response. That is the funniest part to me.

You've learned well from the confederate flag supporters.

We should keep the entire, hell-raisin' thing. Let's just make sure it recognizes women are people.
Jesus Christ. Does saying you want someone to "cheer the brave and bold" imply that said person is not, in fact, a person?

So does the alma mater come under fire next?
"Oh sons of Tech" seems pretty exclusive.
1410 for change
1307 against change
I'm trying to interpret the line from the point of view of these people, genuinely trying, and I can not figure out what there is to be offended by or how it's demeaning.
You need to leave out the following lines about the son, and consider "the brave and bold" to be the GT student body, not whatever sports team is playing.I'm trying to interpret the line from the point of view of these people, genuinely trying, and I can not figure out what there is to be offended by or how it's demeaning.

From that perspective, what they're saying makes sense. I mean, it would still be nitpicking to be offended by it, but it would make a lot of sense to change it.
Of course, that perspective is not reality, but it is what it is. They make it reality by structuring their petition like that and distributing it to people who don't know the song.
