I think, with the different scheme and the different off-season workout regimen, that we cannot hold onto all our preconceived notions. Kids this age develop skills. We'll also see what the coaches do to accentuate a kid's positives and mask his weaknesses, which is a major job of theirs at the college level.
If he can't change directions, coaches will put him where he won't have to. If he can't catch a pass, coaches will move him. If he can do those things, you are being disrespectful of a young athlete you are allegedly rooting for who deserves our respect for his commitment and leadership abilities. If he can never do those things, you are still being a jerk.
How can you say he has bricks for hands and then immediately say you saw no passes thrown to him? That tells me you are posting out your ass.
There's a world of difference between saying, "I think he needs to learn how to gear down to improve his body control and also work on his hands," and saying, "He can't...."
